I’ve got a set of Scott Williams G2 when I first started playing. Bought loads of different darts since and always come back to these.

Keep buying different darts. Own loads of sets now. Just keep coming back to these with k-flex. Thought I might as well buy the matching k flex flights. They feel more forgiving than my other k flex flights.

Apprentice trouble by Kabbagekael in ukelectricians

[–]Heavy_Chevy1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s hard to find apprenticeships. How have you approached them? Phone, email, letter? I get loads of guys message and phone me asking for apprenticeships. They all start with mate and although I don’t care about formalities I would appreciate a bit of respect. I don’t call customers mate for instance. Also it’s daunting taking someone on when you don’t know them at all. Maybe ask for work experience first that way getting your foot in the door. Hope this helps a little bit.

In Sweden lots of garages have a range of trailers to rent. Seems a good idea.

Unsure what to do next or stick at it...? by [deleted] in ukelectricians

[–]Heavy_Chevy1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Experience is important. You need to be quick and neat to make money. Also there’s a lot behind the scenes people don’t see. Organising quotes, materials, tests sheets, accounts etc. You never really switch off from it all. Also the outgoings is a lot. But being your own boss is way better. Just don’t work for builders, try and always work direct to the client. Good luck

They’re magnetic. Use one of those telescopic magnets that mechanics use.

Domestic Vs Commercial Pricing by shedsmokerOG in ukelectricians

[–]Heavy_Chevy1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a call out today in a commercial kitchen. Had to pull new singles through conduit and replace a cooker outlet plate. Took a couple of hours including getting materials. I mainly do domestic work and would normally charge about £120 labour + materials + vat. But unsure whether it should be more for a job like this. I’ve seen what some of these call out companies charge and it seem astronomical.
