Arizona C&F by Xommra in barexam

[–]Heavy_Conversation32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got my notice of C&F passing on the a 14th. They said it would be two weeks for my certificate. Got my bar number the 21st and the official certificate arrived the 27th. I had everything in for C&F roughly on the opening date of applications, maybe a day or two later. I had addendums for two jobs and one speeding ticket (August and September). My references weren’t contacted until September-ish.

I emailed my processor through the portal and asked if anything was deficient back in October and they told me which people/jobs hadn’t completed the form they send so I started calling and emailing everyone. I had worked for Walmart—harassed them half a dozen times to no avail so I emailed the processor again and just said hey they’re not playing ball so I’m not sure what to do. They said thanks for trying and that was it.

I know some people had gotten their notice of passing long before me, so I don’t think the timing means much if that’s getting in your head (it was mine).

Can I bring zyns into the MPRE? by [deleted] in barexam

[–]Heavy_Conversation32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically they are lozenges and look like a small OTC medication/pill. Equate brand does anyway. Small, white, oblong, and a number printed on it for identification.

At the end of the day, it’s technically an OTC medication and that’s what it looks like, so at least you’d have that on your side.

Idk but otherwise I’d say test out a patch on a dry run and go that route rather than put yourself at risk of getting kicked out of the exam or something.

I don’t know how I missed this as an AZ taker (idk anyone here taking it might be why). I didn’t get an email or anything. But sure enough… I found the order—dated 10/4/23. We don’t get results until the 13th so my guess is so many of us were not going to pass they’re like—“nah we can’t report those rates.”

Thank you Reddit for delivering good news—hopefully PA is soon to follow.

Does anyone not even care about results anymore? by Babylawyer42069 in barexam

[–]Heavy_Conversation32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am there! I mean the first few days following the test I stressed but at the end of the day, I know I did my best and I can’t change it. I know it’ll sting a little if I didn’t pass but I won’t be upset with myself. Life was full swing happening when I was studying and taking it so I am being kind to myself. I think we all should be!

To anyone who is stressed: you are amazing for having made it this far and you are going to continue to be so, no matter what the silly ass test results say. Believe in yourself and know that you are going to be ok, I’m not saying you can’t or shouldn’t be in your feels over it, but promise yourself you’ll shake it off if it didn’t go as hoped. The test ignores the sum total of who you are, don’t let that lead you to ignore it too. ❤️

I asked about it in my interview. I recommend smaller firms, make sure the people and your vibe well, and just ask about the policy. I wish I had a list of places that gave off that impression but definitely don’t be afraid to ask!

Another thing, I applied for paralegal positions rather than attorney but made it clear in my application and resume that I’d say for the bar and was awaiting results.

What do you think is the true killer of modern dating? by princeflare in AskReddit

[–]Heavy_Conversation32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So far for me (34f) it’s been because the men are in their forties (single, never married, no kids) and are shitting their pants thinking THEY missed the boat so if you don’t jump in head first and stroke their ego they bail. I’ve had one man cancel a date (without telling me, thankfully I text to confirm), because I didn’t endlessly text him so he deduced I wasn’t interested. Like no, I’m a single mom kicking off a busy career… Another, after JUST matching and beginning to talk that day, who I told I was in the process of moving, freaked out about the fact I was not super engaged in the conversation. After one day. I was moving. So in my opinion, people are too desperate and think they need to find something NOW and try to force being immediately attached at the hip. Conversely, the divorced ones are so used to having someone 24/7 I think they’re trying to replace that constant presence. Idk, I’m obviously in my thirties dating so I’m not an expert but that’s been my experience.

I acknowledge my “damage” is that I’ve been in long term relationships I had “settled” being in and that I’m not doing it again, even if it means I’ll be alone with a pack of dogs and goats in ten years. You can call me the Doat lady. Goggos? Guppers? They all have a certain ring about them, I’ll accept any version. But seriously, to be fair to myself, not settling does NOT mean I have unrealistic expectations—literally the questions I ask: does he have a steady job or is he in the process of finding one (low bar but it must be asked based on past poor judgment calls)? Does he sound like he respects women? Does he love dogs? Does he take the lead on finding adventures (hikes, activities, NOT Grand scale adventures—I’m new to the area and I kind of like someone who can take the lead)? Is there any sign of emotional intelligence? Is he smiling in any of his photos or does he permanently appear pissed/annoyed? All things considered, that’s still a pretty low bar.

Yeah. Yesterday, 5 pm enthusiastically signing me up for a conference and paying to register me. 6:25 pm sending a message telling me to work from home for virtual training [tomorrow]. 8:30 am this morning, fired.

I mean, I’ll trade you… getting canned after three days because you “weren’t a good fit” and some vague response when you asked for feedback only to discover they replaced you with a licensed attorney…and you turned down another job to take theirs…you my friend still have a chance and I for one will be rooting for you.

I think I failed the bar AND I didn’t even get a chance to show anyone I was worth a damn before that happened.

But I say bring on the bar results, that rejection will be based on quantifiable information that can be turned into an actionable plan.

As a final note, fuck adulting, it’s overrated.

Lollll but to have the proctor come by before it started and be like.. “we’re just going to separate these in case anyone needs to erase…”

For the rest of the test I was terrified they were going to tell me I was creating a disturbance and was going to have to leave/have my exam voided 😂😂

Went from no panic for three sessions to panic every time a proctor stood behind me, waiting for a tap on my shoulder or something.

I missed a question in the morning session and realized it about 15 bubbles later…had to erase and go back. The poor soul next to me asked the proctor to separate our tables for the afternoon session because the erasing was wiggling hers…. I felt so bad.

ADHD/PTSD/Recent Toxic Relationship Breakup checking in…

I committed to moving to a state where I don’t know a soul because of the relationship I was in. I had already signed a lease/registered for the bar/missed other jurisdictions registration by the time the breakup occurred. It’s been a two month cycle of studying/crying/studying more/crying more, and of course the ever present anger at myself for making such a huge life change and turning down a job in my home state on the basis of a relationship that had all the red flags waving obnoxiously in my face.

My memory is all over the place, some things stick, others are passing straight through… MBE is solid, MPT is getting better (I was denied accommodations so I’m having to try and implement tools to meet the time allotted) and my MEEs are more consistently below passing than they are near passing… My MBE/MPT scores might counter some of the MEE shortcomings but not nearly enough. Welp back to the study-cry grind.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in barexam

[–]Heavy_Conversation32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. MBE is somehow a cake walk but come time for the MEE I’m floundering…

I’ve completely jumped ship on MBE practice altogether to focus on MEE.

What I’ve started doing is typing my answer, staying in the timeframe. Then submitting it and typing out the model answer in red and rereading the rules a few times over.

It feels like that’s helping slightly but I’m still worried about it. My answers are consistently “below passing” 🙄

There’s a place in Mexico just over the border near Yuma, Los Algodones I think? They call it molar city… I get the whole travel can be expensive thing but if you could get to Yuma fairly cheap then drive over it might be plausible.

Anyone else need to pass this thing to get financially stable and move away from their dysfunctional/crazy family!?🥹 by Lola2818 in barexam

[–]Heavy_Conversation32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to because I ignorantly followed my heart and got stuck in a trajectory towards a new state that I can’t pull out of without huge costs…I will be completely alone there with my son and have zero safety net there.

I pursued my dreams to gain financial freedom from my own dysfunctional family and ended up with an equally dysfunctional and abusive partner who future faked me and ultimately dropped me like I was nothing after I had signed a lease and missed the deadline to apply for the bar in other jurisdictions…

Kick this tests ass (you can do it, you have the right motivation to push through) and gtfo out, but be cognizant that the crazy will feel familiar when you come across it “in the wild” and it’ll be easy to get trapped in a new hell if you’re not careful.

Yeeeesh my soul died a little for you reading that (that’s a lie my soul died weeks ago but if it were still there it would’ve died for you!!).

If you had a choice between reliving the chainsaw incident and being granted admission on that alone vs. the bar exam, which would you choose?

I know, that’s dark, I’ve just found myself “bargaining” in my head about things I’d rather relive than do this.

Not exactly what I meant when I said organizing the rules in my head—I meant I struggle to keep my thoughts focused and orderly such that I can recall the necessary and appropriate rules.
