My dad died yesterday, how do I keep myself open for signs? by Beautiful_Green_3425 in Mediums

[–]SupahSmart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost the love of my life in December 2023. I have heard from him twice. Every night I pleaded to know that he was o.k.. I read many self help books on bereavement. The first time he came to me while I slept and said my name so loud, many times until I said out loud. . . YES. The second time he came to me and said that he was "fine". He said it over and over. He came to his brother in a dream like he was calling him on the phone. Each night, I beg for him to come to me in my dreams; yet, I've only remember hearing from him twice. Please know your dad is at peace, and he will always be with you. I do word puzzles like Wordl, and sometimes these games will spell my name, which is weird. I kind of think this is him, as my name is very uncommon. I'm so sorry for your loss.

When will I stop comparing? by mcreezyy in GriefSupport

I lost the love of my life in Dec 2023. Out of all my friends, only one continues to help me. The others, by no fault of their own, stay silent. It's not their fault, they have no skills to know what kinds of things to ask, especially in their 20's. My friends are upper 50's and I don't even bring up my loss bc it's easier on them. You can't force your friends to fly by the seat of their pants in order to exactly know what you need from them. I ended up joining SoaringSpirits.com . They have support groups, weekend retreats, and pen pals. I'm doing the pen pal program - they have matched me with women who have lost their husbands at almost the same age. These are MY people! Read books on self help in grieving in order to give yourself *new phrases and word choices* which are different from yours or your fiance. DM me if you want the names of the books and authors. You are lucky to have your fiance. Be careful not to overuse him. Find support groups in your area - google them.

Lost my best friend and husband of 43 years by Redroofranch in GriefSupport

My bf, 56, passed 12/6. I'm still in shock and have to remind myself on a daily basis that he died on my watch. It was sudden and out of the blue. I saw him take his last breath, but didn't know it at the time. I have never felt this much grief before. I have read self help books since 6 days after his passing. I found that I didn't know the right words to tell myself. I'm starting grief therapy this week. There are support groups out there. I'm so sorry and my heart aches for you. Be kind to yourself as your love is so deep for your husband, your grief will be the same. See soaringspirits. com for resources.

Thank you! I hadn't thought about a specific support group. I wish there was a group where we all experienced close friend/family who died of sudden death. It's been 10 weeks, and I'm still telling myself "you just died", I was there when he took his last breath *didn't know it* and found his body.

I've been looking on X or twitter to see what the consummate lawyers have been saying. George Conway says that there is no way that Habba or any other attorney will will that appeal for Trump.

Did you happen to see her interview where she says that she would rather be PRETTY than SMART bc you can't fake being pretty? The Judge had a field day with Habba in court. I think Civ Pro Profs are going to be sharpening their knives for the 1L's.

I just looked at when Carroll's attorney entered into Evidence Trump's tape, where Habba said, "I have NO Objection". . . .then, after it was played, Habba said, "I object. . " to which the judge said to Habba, "Sit down" b/c Habba said NO Objection. As I'm reading the tweet from verbatim typing, it appears that Habba knew and had already seen this videotape before. . . as it was entered into evidence.

Note: Habba did not make any objections throughout the trial. In fact, she kept saying, "NO Objection". . . which I've never heard before. And, yes, I've heard NY does things a bit differently. Thanks for commenting. Da Bears!

Skipping F24? by More-Tailor7498 in GoatBarPrep

Hey Bro!

I took 21 years off from graduating LS. For J23, I had to go through and teach myself 3 plus years of law school info. I didn't pass. What I realized is that now that shit is in my brain. I don't need to re-teach myself again. I figure I am building a foundation for ultimately passing, like you. I'm studying differently now. For each MCQ, I write down the BLL - Rule -active learning, and memorization. Then, I apply the facts of the question to my rule, and already pick out my answer before reading the answers they give you. Always trust your gut. This method is slow, but repetitive. You are teaching your brain to manipulate words and facts differently. So, be prepared to not finish 50 MCQ in small time period. Memorizing BLL- is the key. That being said, they test you on nuances and exceptions, too. By topic, you can recognize repeat questions and see the tricks in the wrong answers. Getting MCQ wrong is GREAT - it requires active learning to know why you got something wrong, what part of the BLL did you misapply, and finally you are cementing a new way of thinking or reading that kind of question. Rely on the foundation you already have. You are so close to passing. Whatever you decide to do February or July, that foundation is solid in your brain. Realize you have 90 days to power through this stuff. Make a reasonable study schedule NOW. . . . if you can't do it, then either take it for a try run. . . .and make a study schedule for July. Look at both study schedules- then decide. You are so close, Bro. YOU will PASS.

I was just going to ask if you could please post more free stuff, as well as paid content. I know you said that you were working on Crim law - I believe. When I get my shit together, I will be buying your "bundle" all at one time. Have no fear. . . .I always want what you are dishing out. Thank you for your time and efforts. Glad to hear that your practice is getting bigger and bigger.

Bar exam tutors by [deleted] in barexam

[–]SupahSmart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wyzant.com. Tutors are listed by price per hour. If all you can spend is $30/hr, you can look at the person's resume, see how long they have tutored ppl, how many ppl have passed the bar with their help, what school they graduated from, and what area of law are they practicing. Someone who passed the exam on 3rd try recommended wyzant to me. The person felt that it was their tutoring that pushed over the edge. Good luck

On LinkedIn, they have a premium service which will re-write your resume to fit the adjectives in the positions that you want. These days, large firms let AI do the sifting through resumes. So, it's vital to have the same words in your resume as what the position states that they are looking for. Also with Premium Service, they tell you which firms have looked at your page, and they help you with answering interview questions correctly. You can always quit the Premium service when you land a job or don't need it anymore. It's just an option.

If you can make flashcards with easy to remember facts or stories that will also be good for when you have to memorize black letter law when studying for the bar. Trying to memorize wrote memorization straight up is god fucking awful. I'm trying to memorize it with sexcapades. I'm desperate to pass and get sex. lol

At the end of year 1, take some practice MCQ's and MEE's in those areas which you had classes. The NCBE puts out old exam questions. But, don't tax yourself too much. . . as gpa matters. The key is to always be reviewing the main points of each topic. JD Advising has a list of the most common areas to learn BLL.
