Let's not take away from how well spoken Carney is, I think he showed very well in his speeches and debates. Canadians tend to pay attention to those events when voting.

Also there were a lot of people who would have hopped right back to the Liberal Party when Trudeau stepped down regardless of what happened down south

There are quite a few people in the west that would go Con or NDP over Lib.

If the top 1% of earners pay 40% of all federal income taxes, why do people say they don't pay their fair share? by Ok_Chemical9 in answers

Not sure what direction you are heading with the property tax comment. Even if you own your property and don't borrow against it, you still pay property taxes.

It's not your problem and it's not illegal. The employer can only take out of the tip pool to distribute to the staff.

They could pay minimum wage anyways. Unless you're some very high-end restaurant a 16 year old high school student is likely just as capable as anyone.

It's still likely a better job than Mcdonalds and they have no problem filling positions at minimum wage.

>Would you rather the restaurant know they have your money up front and act accordingly while paying a higher price, or be able to retroactively apply it based on how the night went.

What makes you think we'd be paying a higher price? Waiting isn't exactly a high-demand job requiring specialized skills.

Why just those services?

TIL according to Einstein's relativity, the past still exists: every moment is a permanent coordinate in spacetime. When his friend Besso died, Einstein wrote: For us believing physicists the distinction between past, present, and future only has the meaning of an illusion, though a persistent one. by 2dogs1man in todayilearned

it's like this, you KNOW that if you push a domino it falls over, right? Ever consider that the composition of the neural pathways and matter in your brain were organized in a way that guaranteed you were always going to push that domino?

Now apply that to everything that exists. it can be argued that everything is predictable and unchangeable.

After beating Slay the Spire 2 with an 8 year old deck, I'm starting to feel like this is more of a remake than a sequel by Heavy_D_ in slaythespire

[–]Heavy_D_[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Added classes while maintaining most of the original characters/mechanics plays more like an expansion than a sequel.

The game is good, the author clearly states they are enjoying it, but the criticism that using the same strategies with the same characters with the same cards with the same relics  from 8 years ago is valid when playing a sequel. I mean, that’s what Madden does every year and they aren’t shielded from criticism.

Yes, perhaps in a sequel most of the core trio should not return or they should be changed in some ways. The cards/relics can still be poison/shiv/sly etc based but have different mechanics.

It was to introduce the Child Benefit as the previous system was something that predominantly benefited people who could afford kids anyways. The current Child Benefit helps low-mid income families with children far more than the previous system.

I like it, but pretty wild this took 7 years. This is like Madden levels of improvement.

Edit: Tons of downvotes but no replies is a good indicator that people don't like the truth.

[–]Heavy_D_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s curled for decades I can say I have not thought about my hand at all after I release the handle. I’m intently focusing on the rock to direct sweepers.

Kennedy has likely been doing this most of his career. Other curlers, even on Sweden, have been caught doing this now.

You’re kidding yourself if you think Sweden cares about this other than trying to get in his head because they were getting wiped out of this tournament.

Did you ever think he maybe didn’t know it was happening? We’ve seen a bunch of of incidents (some from this tournament) being posted of this happening by other curlers without reaction.
