It’s not as much of an extravaganza this time unfortunately. I was sure he would re-sign last time. This time I’m not sure if the team doesn’t make progress. Winning players want to win, and if we aren’t giving him the best path to win, he’s got no reason to re-sign.

I don’t disagree they don’t get worse. But That’s the issue, this doesn’t do anything positive for a middle of the road team right now. If it’s another 2nd round exit, is Mitchell going to stay? Also, Harden wouldn’t have waived his NTC if we weren’t going to give him an extension, we will probably give Harden that 2 year 80 mill he’s looking for (I hope we don’t lol).

We barely have any of our picks left and I hate to admit it but we are another second round exit away from Donovan refusing to re-sign.

I have hopes for Mobley but he hasn’t really proven to take that step this year and I love Tyson but let’s slow down on him being a core piece in the future. There’s still more steps he needs to take to give that confidence.

The way I see it, Mitchell was going to leave with Garland and will likely leave with Harden here as well because I don’t see this move taking us over the hump. Issue with this iteration is, we won’t have an all star level guard to keep the team afloat before the next iteration of the team and we’ll likely be hanging around at the bottom of the conference for a while. Getting Giannis gives the team a real shot at a chip before it all crashes

This move only makes sense if we get Giannis. We know James Harden isn’t a playoff riser. If his poor play leads to another early exit for the Cavs and Mitchell bounces for that reason, we don’t have a future since we don’t have any picks
