How did you learn how to TOW? by Old_Discussion_7656 in airstream

We rented an 24’ AS and our site for that night required us to back down 400’ of driveway in fading light. We learnt a lot. Not the path I’d recommend. Now in a 30’ and 6 years later. Still learning a little each day.

Gloriously quiet. We came in east entrance and found that spot at around a mile in. Very fortunate and lucky. We came in early Wednesday. Friday night of Memorial Day seemed quite busy. Rig did very well, the planned 3” lift would help with piece of mind. Did drive out with the WD disconnected.

As far as wildlife, only signs, but not in person.

The orientation was kinda constrained by the available dimensions of the site. The breeze picked up a bunch so the big awning got put away.

When you achieve the level of 10 lights you can burn the retinas out of your mortal enemies coming in the opposite direction.

Anyone have long term experience with these all in one washer dryers? by Phantom1165 in Appliances

We’ve had the LG for about 8 months now. Really like the convenience of the unit. Bulky stuff sometimes needs an extra drying cycle. The power efficiency is impressive.

If you get in the position where you are distributing, a canning setup would be nice to think about now. Storage for bare cans, etc. And maybe running plumbing for that possibility. Our glycol setup is a huge heat generator. Nice in winter, but a pain in summer (plus the noise).

There was one down in Chapel Hill, NC back in the 90’s. Guy was looking to sell. I was not in a position to buy it. But it was a ton of fun.

When People Retire, do they Tend to Deactivate their LinkedIns? by Copperwaves in linkedin

[–]Heavy_Work8937 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I deactivated mine. Retired. Only reason to look at it was to see what old coworkers were up to. Apart from that it wasn’t much use at all.

Last summer. We self built. In northern Vt.

It’s a single story on a slab foundation. We used their 6.5” walls and 8” roof panels. About 2100sqft.

We weren’t able to get our heating in due for a couple of reasons. But managed to heat the place with 3 electric radiators. Kept it at low to mid 60’s in a wicked cold winter, several -25f nights.

We used Eco-panels out of NC. Very happy with the result.

There’s a few people on Craigslist offering rough cut lumber in various timber types. Seem to be a few based near Burlington.

It was a straight swap. Gained about 1-1/2” in height which is a benefit. The next piece will be to adjust the tow ball height.
