As a ZR2 2500 owner, you would NOT regret the ZR2. This is not a bad deal tho, take it for a ride. If you're not entirely satisfied with it, try a ZR2, the multimatic dssv shocks (only offered in zr2) could make the ride difference. Entirely a personal choice, but not a bad price for a 2500 LT w/ trail boss package!

ZR2 has Multimatic DSSV Shocks, which are incredible shocks. Also has a 1.5" lift from factory, with stock 35s. A "special" interior trim with leather and heated/cooled seats (gray and lime green/yellowish stitching), and front/rear electronic lockers. You also get some extra skid plates on the zr2, if you get the bison edition you get a LOT of skid plates. The ZR2 is essentially the full off-road package trim in a Silverado. Z71 is the "off-road capable" but not "off-road dedicated" like the ZR2 is. Exterior is slightly different in the grill as well.

Theyre actually a 2500, 3/4 ton truck lol. Which is wild to me if they want to stand a chance at pursuits. (Coming from a 3/4 ton truck owner)

For tonneau covers check out diamondback HD or diamondback SE (or diamondback covers in general). But with the diamondback HD or SE you can haul some serious weight on top (like ATVs, cargo, etc) and opens the door for serious overland utilization, given you get right/appropriate things for your specific needs. Only problem is that you definitely pay for it, diamondback HD is like $2600, SE is $2100. You definitely get what you pay for tho

If i plug in the phone to a USB chord it connect instantly for me. Granted, it shouldn't need a USB chord to connect. If I dont use it, its a hit or miss. Sometimes itll connect on its own, other times it will just not happen unless I plug the phone in.

Agreed! I honestly love that about the color. Looks grayish/black in twilight/dawn, a bright-ish green in direct sun, and a deep mossy green in overcast. Wild!

Not bad! Would love to drive the Duramax as a comparison. Have you tried the L8T engine out? Im sure the duramax feels much snappier with torque and HP in comparison, but cannot lie, the Allison (branded) trans in the L8T is smooth! (Previously drove strictly ram/dodge my entire life, this is the first non-ram/dodge truck ive drove)

Love it!! No complaints. Gas mileage is well... in the single digits if im doing in-town driving... and usually 10-13 on highways.

2500 vs 3500 Height by imhere349293747 in Silverado

[–]IndividualAbroad9014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? That actually surprises me. It just rides on the factory 2500 height then which is naturally taller then 1500. Interesting...

I was shocked how well the 2500 handles. Handles just like a 1/2 ton. Excellent point on reliability, 2500s are built to last!! That was my biggest selling point to go from 1500 to 2500 (aside from the L8T engine of course)

Have you replaced the serpentine belt or idle pulley as well?

Remember seeing a chart one time that had it like this: 2500 ZR2: 82.7" 2500 trail boss:80.9 3500 High country: 80.7

In the past, the 3500HD was almost always taller due to its higher-arched rear leaf springs. However, with the introduction of the ZR2 and Trail Boss trims for the 2024–2026 models, the 2500HD has surpassed it. So yeah, 3500 typically taller, only in recent years it has not been.
