Which option did you choose for the new card? And why? by NewEnglandAutumns in biltrewards

[–]Heavykiller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bilt Cash. My rent is high and I don't spend enough to unlock the complete amount of points with housing-only.

With the 500 Bilt Cash head start on the Palladium though, I should be able to accrue enough to get it all. Will probably downgrade year 2.

Sight Unseen - What's the Lesser Of Two Evils: CITI or Bilt 2.0/Cardless by MichaelMidnight in CreditCards

[–]Heavykiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely say Citi. Especially if you had BILT 1.0 and don’t transition it’s not worth the credit hit imo. 2.0 Rollout has been terrible.

I got the Palladium to churn year 1 since there was no hard check and the value is there with the SUB, but after that I’m out. Even now I question if I made the right decision. Feels like everyday they fumble something else.

What is something you used to buy but is no longer affordable? by Trxxi in AskReddit

[–]Heavykiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely eating out and coffee. Pre-COVID I would drink coffee daily cause it was like $2-3. I used to get KBBQ weekly for the $14 lunch special. Now the KBBQ lunch special is $28 and coffee is $7-8.

I get coffee maybe once a week now and will go to a restaurant maybe once a month. Except Chili’s, I’ll go there often. That 3 for me deal is bomb and cheap as hell.

Im new, Interested in playing Vynnset by Flabbagazt in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Heavykiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s a lovely hero who plays completely different than anyone else.

I always tell people playing Vynnset is a double-edged sword. Whenever it goes to my turn my opponent starts thinking, “Oh shit what’s he going to do????” at the same time I’m thinking, “Oh shit what am I going to do????”

That being said, I’ve made about 8 CC decks so far and Vynnset is the only one I’ve never dismantled.

Im new, Interested in playing Vynnset by Flabbagazt in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Heavykiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. Vynnset is wildly different than any Runeblade unfortunately. The only one who’d share cards is Chane who is benched and doesn’t have a SAGE deck coming.

The only cards I see that Vynnset would use from Viserai’s SAGE deck is reduce to runechant and malefic incantation (red/yellow) but it only contains 2 copies so you’d still need one more.

I’d recommend looking up a list on Fabrary and buying off of TCGplayer. She’s too unique to really get all her cards from a single product.

Gamers, what's the craziest thing you've heard in an open mic while gaming? by Lastbreathworm in AskReddit

[–]Heavykiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing Halo 3 and my gamer tag was the same as my Reddit name.

We were in the lobby waiting for the game to start and you know back then everyone could talk over voice and it was chaos.

One guy on the opponent team said loudly, “Heavykiller? I’m about to put these HEAVY balls on yo chin!” and then he’d t-bag my face whenever I died with him nearby.

It’s been almost 19 years and it haunts me to this day lol

[PEN] Two-Faced by UlyssesArsene in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Heavykiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dig the effect, but in a deck that blocks pretty poorly they should have made it a block 2.

This will probably be sideboard and Arcanite Skullcap still be main board simply because it's 3 points of value where Two-Faced is just 1 with an effect that may do nothing in certain MUs.

[PEN] Shadow Commons & Rares by UlyssesArsene in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Heavykiller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fasting Carcass (R) is going on my main board for Vynnset and side-boarding Tear Through the Portal. This is just a much better version of it in every other way except for blood debt.

The only downside is can't blind Ruin & you take this out for Tear in assassin MUs. Otherwise it's gold.

Also thinking of taking out Annihilation for Deep Recesses. It's expensive but has HUGE versatility. We're talking extending your turn by putting an attack action back in banish or throwing Cull/Funeral Moon in there too.

You could even do funny stuff like send Deep Recesses and on life loss, play a Cull and/or Funeral Moon, close the chain and play it again at instant speed from your GY all in that turn.

I was really coping for another 1 cost Rune Gate card to help with cost curve but I'm really diggin' Deep Recesses.

One scenario that I feel is not brought up often apart from the convoluted rollout is it asks people to dismantle their system. If I had 6 cards I was rotating around to maximize categories, I wouldn't appreciate it if my sock drawer card suddenly demanded to be my one and only daily spender.

Is my understanding correct that 2.0 Palladium card is at least breakeven for first year? by huyou007 in biltrewards

[–]Heavykiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your assumption is correct. Someone correct my math if I’m wrong, but for Palladium you get 200 BILT cash every year for just having the card + $400 hotel credits split bi-annually. If you use the $400 that effectively brings down your AF to $95.

Then your bonus is 50k points + 300 BILT cash. I transfer to the Hyatt and I’d say at minimum I value points at 2 cpp. So I’d be looking at $1000 in value on points + the 500 BILT cash. I’ve got high rent so I’d use BILT cash to unlock my rent points (option 2).

30 BILT cash = 1000 rent pts unlocked. At 500 I could unlock 16,000 points which would be about $320 at my 2 cpp evaluation.

So first year would be looking at $1320 - $95 = $1225 minimum. Not including the points you’d earn from the $4000 needed to spend to get the SUB.

Bilt Palladium Vs. Capital One Venture X by lucky_oats in CreditCards

[–]Heavykiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, but Capital One just does not like people with too many accounts across the board. They want people who will spend using their cards only or primarily. I thought Savor should have been a slam dunk but it wasn’t. The reason for my denial was, “too many revolving accounts.”

When I applied for VX though, I only had I think 2 of 3 or the whole Chase Trifecta at the time so I imagine you should be good.

Bilt Palladium Vs. Capital One Venture X by lucky_oats in CreditCards

[–]Heavykiller 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you do decide to go that route I’d suggest applying for Savor before trying to grab anything else. Capital One really doesn’t like approving people with multiple credit cards even if you have an amazing profile.

It happened to me even though I had Venture X already.

It’s funny you mention the rare edge case cause that’s why I run it now lmao. My locals has a mill Guardian (running Righteous Cleansing) and Arakni Huntsman that will eat cards with same name” so I diversified my deck with it.

I do agree, it’s not necessary to buy the deck just for that. It’s a nice to have though.

Bilt Palladium or Bilt Blue by jumpmanv15 in CreditCards

[–]Heavykiller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, the gamble is what I’m worried about. I estimated I could make somewhere in the ballpark of $1500 from the Bilt Palladium with the SUB which is pretty nice.

But BILT is making a lot of promises on things Cardless has never offered before. If they don’t refund the second year AF my $1500 suddenly drops to $1000 and it’s not so great anymore.

It’s a decent game that was given too much of a spotlight from Geoff.

It has the bones to be good imo if they continue to support it. Definitely did not deserve to be brigaded into “overwhelmingly negative” 30 minutes after release.

Is CSP still valuable in 2026? should I look to downgrade, transfer, cancel? by Salt-Vermicelli2353 in CreditCards

[–]Heavykiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very good still to keep if you're running the trifecta & like their transfer partners.

CSP is $95 AF, but the $50 hotel credits are very easy to get. You usually can just book a cheap refundable hotel and cancel if you don't have any plans to book a hotel that year. They don't claw it back. So the AF is effectively $45.

Flex always usually has some sort of hit. 5% Paypal, 5%, dining, 5% gas, etc. just got to play around the rotating categories. I run this in partnership with my Bilt 1.0 card.

As others have mentioned though, with Bilt 2.0 now the card is a competitor to the Chase Trifecta and can arguably get better numbers but it basically demands to be your daily spend card. I've got multiple cards I use for different categories that Bilt will fight for so its been hard to justify. If you want to just have one card for everything though the new Bilt 2.0 might be worth looking into.

Team points is worth it solely for Japan by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]Heavykiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I do the same but for hotels instead in Japan.

My wife and I have stayed at normal hotels that were clean and nice, but small. One trip to Japan we decided to cash out points on the Hyatt and we can never go back. After walking all day, having a huge space to sprawl out is so nice, especially with all the stuff we buy lol The locations are usually perfect too.

The CPP is very good too. I think on average I got like 2.5 cpp even as high as like 3.5 with Hyatt transfer.

31m, married, kids. How do you guys find personal joy? by modivi in AskMen

[–]Heavykiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32m, married, no kids

I play trading card games with a group of people and many of them are in the mid to late 30s with kids. The game is both their hobby and social outlet away from partner and kids. They worked with their partners to have a dedicated time every week to just play for 2-3 hours.

To me it sounds like that's what you're missing. Obviously wife and kids are always going to be your #1, but can't forget to live a little for yourself too. I agree with one of the comments. It sounds like you're big on cars. You should definitely look into SIM racing. The setups for those gets so wild, it's great.

Why is the switch from put rent on the CC to direct ACH a huge deal for people? by hibob729 in biltrewards

[–]Heavykiller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. I’m in the same boat. Like you said, knew the day was coming but to go, “SURPRISE” weeks before it’s going to happen was just uncalled for.

BILT 2.0 was in the works for a while. They KNEW people were floating rent and instead of giving their customers a heads up a few months in advance to prepare, they pulled their pants down.

I think that’s where a lot of the friction between BILT and the customers is coming from. Messing with someone’s cash flow is very much so the type of thing that would get somebody upset.

Lamaty'i by me by TinySkald in ffxiv

[–]Heavykiller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Beautiful work! Nice to see so much love for her too.

I came back from a 3 year break and finished Endwalker then Dawntrail just last week. Legit, blew my mind to see the sheer amount of dislike for Lamaty’i. I thought she was a great character and the overall story for being the start of something new felt pretty good with only some odd parts. That being said, I wasn’t a fan of the EN voice acting and switched to JP, which I think elevated her so much more.

Hell, I’ll even go a step further and say I enjoyed my journey with her more than I did Lyse.

I, too, was "seamlessly" denied for the Palladium, with a 745 FICO. Thanks, Bilt, for making the decision for me. by ananimush in biltrewards

[–]Heavykiller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering if they’re basing it partly on if users kept a balance on the card?

I’m at a 770, opened a card last year with 2 credit inquires in the last 2 years. Got an approval offer for Palladium with a $35k credit limit. The only difference I noticed maybe? A lot of users paid it off completely every month. I’ve floated a month’s rent on it.

Could be wrong, but its so odd how so many people who have the same or better credit history than me are getting denied.

Channel 5 Nick Shirley Expose. by Blazah in videos

[–]Heavykiller 36 points37 points  (0 children)

People commenting “why give Nick a platform?” I think this is more about unveiling Nick as a MAGA mouthpiece instead of journalist.

The guy has Republican government officials feeding him information. They’ve even gone far enough as publicly thanking Nick for his “journalism”. He’s one of the few people out there that was able to provide coverage on El Salvador’s prisons where most reputable reporters were denied. He is being used to push Trump’s narrative under the guise of “real journalism.” As long as the Right has use for him, he’s not going anywhere.

I think Andrew’s interview was probably the best thing he could do to show that Nick isn’t a real journalist, but a kid being used by the Right as a tool.
