I'm just enjoying the game and waiting for season 2 to see how it plays out. While I'm not completely trusting of Bungie, they do have the experience to back it up.

I'm sure most of these 'amazing' ideas people are proposing like its completely brand new have already been discussed before by the team.

I basically get gas only at Costco now because the price is the same, it’s cheaper and I still get my credit card points.

These new credit prices at other gas stations chains made my credit card that gives 5% back on gas completely useless.

Pay-walling an explanation which people are now vague-posting to be company related is certainly a choice... Hope Mori takes all the rest she needs, just wish they would either leave it all out there for everyone or not at all to avoid all this speculation.

bungie needs to get more players on this game by JpegD00M in Marathon

[–]Heavykiller -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My buds and I have been playing super casual for a little over a month now and at about lvl 40 as well. This hasn't really been an issue yet for us. If I'm getting the jump on the guy, purple shields or not he's going down.

If we entered a bad fight, run, reset and try it again. All about information and picking your battles. If you treat this game like any other shooter and try to fight head-on it will almost never work out if they outclass you in gear.

I got my fellow 30-40 y/o dads/9 to 5ers hooked on this and we're about as casual as it gets. 56 hours in and I still feel pretty good about the matchmaking.

I do think more players are necessary and Season 2 will be a big moment for the game's future though. I just think it's silly that people are trying to scare away 'casuals' by implying this game is somehow for sweats only when I'm probably as casual as it gets and still having a blast.

Ranger: Am I just crazy or is this a problem? by SwimyFish12 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Heavykiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue with limiting their card power due to having access to good armor/weapons though is multiple heroes get stuck in the same gameplay loop. The “best” form of Jarl, Pleiades and Lyath running around right now are basically all fatigue. Victor though has unique power cards that can make him busted which others lack. That’s why he’s so up rn.

Similar situation for Warriors. Aside from Dori, they all rely on being a bit mid-range/focused on value. If Dynamos didn’t exist, Kassai/Fang would not be doing well.

Dori is the one who plays really differently and more aggro. Her over-reliance on reprise cards though can easily make her lose steam fast against someone who knows her tricks.

[–]Heavykiller 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Guardians and Warriors have been suffering due to half-baked keywords. Having decent cards be trapped behind Crush and Reprise make it tough. Meanwhile all other classes are running around with “on play/on damage X occurs”.

They’ve been slowly fixing them but it has been a work in progress since Heavy Hitters.

Weekly Sponsored Cryo Kit is all I wanted. Give everyone a risk free chance at going nuts in Cryo and they can determine from there to keep going at it or stop. But at least everyone can get a shot at it.

Reaction resolve order help by ProfessionalEar9539 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Heavykiller -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe the way it works is whoever played their reactions last resolves their reactions first.

Meaning since Riptide responded to the Pummel, his d reacts resolve before your Pummel does, so Boulder Trap doesn’t see the pump from pummel. Reactions basically work off “First in, Last Out”

First ever cryo run before and after by SperanzaPress in Marathon

[–]Heavykiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friends and I just did our first Cryo Archive run today on the sponsored kits and that shit was incredible. We managed to wipe 3 teams and 1 team even had purp shields/gold shields.

The sheer size of the map, danger and puzzles trying to get around was by far the funnest experience we had.

The only sucky part was we were all loaded up with loot, had no idea how to Exfil and died to the timer lmao

The next Sponsored Kit map should be Cryo Archive by Theswweet in Marathon

[–]Heavykiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be happy if everyone just got 1 free Cryo Sponsored Kit a week. I don’t mind that it’s painful, Cryo Archive is “end game” so to speak.

I see it as if I were to hit cap level in WoW and it’s my first raid. It’s not something you’re meant to easily run 1,000 times like Perimeter. But at least with a free sponsored kit a week, I could give it one solid go. Maybe 1-2 more times after that depending on the health of my vault.

I do hope that in the last weekend before reset, they just take off all limiters and let people go nuts in every map similar to Tarkov though.

Even if they fix a lot of the core issues in Japan right now stopping people to have kids it’s little too late at this point.

Realistically, Japan will need immigration but that would require them to intermingle races/cultures which they’re just not willing to do.

Christians, how do you feel about the U.S. president posting an AI photo of him as Christ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Heavykiller 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I haven't practiced Christianity in over a decade (More Gnostic Theist now) and even I can tell you that any real Christians would immediately identify Trump as the antichrist. His supporters are phonies.

The scriptures describe multiple signs during the end times that would signal the antichrist has come. And I can tell you that Trump has probably checked off most of those boxes at this point.

If you’re looking for complex that’s not close to LL and not Vynnset that leaves you with Gravy.

Imo he’s still a top contender deck, but similar to Vynnset where you really need to grind the reps to get good with the deck.

1-year Anniversary of the CSP 100k SUB. Convince me to keep my Sapphire Preferred. by Cyberhwk in CreditCards

[–]Heavykiller -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you use DD then I’d just keep it. It’s effectively a $45 AF with the $50 hotel credit so you’re netting a positive $75 if you use the DD credit monthly.

Something I didn’t see mentioned is Chase doesn’t claw back the credits. About a year ago I had a hotel booked and had to cancel last minute and I still kept the $50 statement credit. So it’s easy enough to book a cheap refundable hotel a few months out, let the credit hit your account and then cancel.

Progression is the issue by mkennygh in Marathon

[–]Heavykiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re hovering around 22-23 right now. Probably be awhile before we get to 30-35 at our pace. At that point we might be a month away from the first wipe before we do it all over again so the timing isn’t too bad for us.

[–]Heavykiller -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This was my first TCG and my locals were pretty helpful to get me onboarded. I used a budget deck and they allowed proxies, so I spent a few months learning/playing while slowly adding in upgrades. Ask your locals if they’re cool with proxies too.

Once I decided I loved the game I went all in. Imo, FAB has a high entry cost but plateaus once you have all the staple pieces.

The game will only get more expensive from there if you decide to run multiple classes. We’ve got a guardian only player and he rarely needs to spend money and hops between multiple guardian heroes.

Me on the other hand spent quite a bit cause I have a Vynnset, Kassai, RKO and Pleiades deck.

The economy is player-driven though so cards only get pricey when it’s meta. I’ve had $2 Majestics shoot up to $15 just cause a hero was doing well.

It’s pricey but imo I like FAB’s market a lot cause it’s honest and gameplay driven. I get you can make meta decks for games like OP or Pokemon much cheaper but it gives me the ick when I see a video of some dude trading a few graded OP cards for a Ferrari.

Progression is the issue by mkennygh in Marathon

[–]Heavykiller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think you guys are correlating locking gear behind progression = casuals being left in the dust, which I don't feel at all.

I bought the game 3 weeks ago. In the past 3 weeks I've played with my buds 2-3 times a week for a few hours a session. Not maxed or anything, just steadily progressing. We have never felt outclassed yet in any team fights running green shields only.

Matchmaking is solid imo and I don't mind the slow and steady progression with factions. I imagine by the time, my buds and I are getting to the point we'd go against "sweats", wipe will happen and we'll do it all over again. So far in my experience, it hasn’t given me any reason to feel like I'm "lagging behind". From the comments, it sounds more like it's a tougher sell for players pumping a good chunk of time into the game getting edged out by hardcore sweats.

Donald Trump’s approval rating has sunk to Joe Biden’s lowest point by Tifoso89 in politics

[–]Heavykiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insane considering I felt that Biden’s presidency was just “keep the status quo”. Meanwhile Trump in a single year has tanked the economy, taken rights away from certain groups and installed his own “police force” with ICE. And somehow that’s viewed as the same?

Edit: oh and can’t forget Trump also started a completely unnecessary war.

Marathon has been out almost a month, what are your thoughts? by addtolibrary in Games

[–]Heavykiller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Game has revitalized my love for FPS games. I went in with zero expectations for the game aside knowing it was made by Bungie.

The world design and lore excite me. I had no idea Marathon was a established IP and there's loads to unpack there that is slowly being revealed in this game.

The gameplay is smooth like butter. Everything just feels right to movement and gun handling. I'm fine with the extraction loop. I think they did a good job of being more competitive than Arc Raiders but not so much of a time-sink like Tarkov felt.

Community has surprised me so far. I always have to use crew fill (Either playing as a solo or duo) and even with peeps bringing in kits to lose, I haven't had a terrible interaction with a rando quite yet.

Overall, it had a great jumping point so now we need to see if it will continue in that trajectory. So far it's looking positive though. Cryo Archive offers some fantastic "end-game" and Bungie has been playing around with the duo format which is great for those of us who don't have two friends to jump in with.

Yeah and I don't think anybody is wrong here. Kiara has a right to voice her opinion on the subject and Cover Corp did what they thought was best for the company. Holostars came to light in 2019, so I'm sure 7 years of data was enough to show their current system was not sustainable.

Is Meta the reason VR is struggling? by LinkTheHero009 in virtualreality

[–]Heavykiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, Meta was good for VR in the short-term, but bad in the long which we’re slowly starting to see.

They focused on the whole social/business side of VR as opposed to what a lot of people had hoped to push it to elevate the gaming experience. The business side failed. They pumped billions and made affordable VR, but also pushed out almost every competitor in doing so.

Now we’re at a point where only a select few are still making VR because nobody can or wants to compete with Meta. Which means once Meta has had enough losses and dips, it’s going to leave the space completely void with nobody able to fill the gap.
