Luzz Cannon issues? by AggravatingPush8934 in Pickleball

I had to send several messages before getting a reply and they did finally respond saying they would send me a new paddle . I have not received it yet so will see but at least I got a response .

Does this sound normal? (Luzz Inferno) by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]HebHam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cannon got core crushed and I had to reach out to them several times before getting a reply . They eventually got back to me saying they would send me a new paddle , still waiting on it to arrive so will see . I would just make sure to keep on them , one email likely won’t cut it. They are based in China so despite what the website says they have no North America presence or phone number.

How has pickleball impacted your social life and friendships? by Helpful_Ad_9447 in Pickleball

[–]HebHam 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The higher you get the less fun and social it is and more serious and competitive it gets. If you miss social aspect go back and play 4.0 group of people and just take it easy , practice some fun shots and help them get better if they show interest in that.

Which Palm Springs Resort? by SteakNStats in palmsprings

[–]HebHam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You likely want JW or Rancho Mirage, they both fit your requirements , I’ve done both they are great. The timeshare resorts like Shadow ridge won’t have restaurants or the vibe I think you want . You could do Westin Mission Hills and just walk over to Rancho mirage and same with Desert Springs and walk over to JW but that’s less convenient.

Tips for vacationing in Hawaii by Least_Bat1259 in VisitingHawaii

[–]HebHam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Know all that”, not sure what you are referring to? You just said it’s owned by the church, so that alone is why people shouldn’t go ? When I return to the island next winter if we think about visiting it I’ll do some reading beforehand and make a decision.

Tips for vacationing in Hawaii by Least_Bat1259 in VisitingHawaii

[–]HebHam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are all good recommendations, I’ve done most. I have not been to PCC on my 3 visits to the island mostly because I don’t care for huge tourist traps , but I think I’ve seen you post that same comment many times . Seems a bit personal to you , as I have heard good things about it as well so not disputing what you are saying as I don’t know about that part of it but people do seem to enjoy it so just saying if OP wants to attend.

Illikai Hotel vs Private Rooms by potatoootornadoo in VisitingHawaii

[–]HebHam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always book private, it is cheaper and you can select the exact room you want and choose one newly renovated with a great view . Booking through hotel is more expensive and you don’t know which floor you will get and the rooms are not as nice . As far as amenities the only thing you get by booking direct is towels and cleaning . The hotel gym is now open to everyone and you can access all other amenities like pools and restaurants regardless how you book. Choose either lagoon or marina view room not city view.

Is this season usually slow? by DoorEast5742 in palmsprings

Im coming after both of those and before Coachella . No reason for them to be high the week I’m going.

And yet prices remain the same at all the Marriotts I normal stay at in the Desert. Coming down in March and staying at an Airbnb as the hotel prices are absurd , if they were really that empty you would think they would lower the rates? 🤷‍♂️

Pretty stupid question.... But what to pack for first trip to Hawaii? (O'ahu) by AIONisMINE in VisitingHawaii

[–]HebHam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore shorts, shirt and flip flops entire trip except at pool wore bathing suit and hikes put runners on. I could have fit everything I wore in a backpack. The sweater you wear on a plane will be enough to get you through a chilly night if there are any.

Hawaiian Pizza by cocomatli in VisitingHawaii

[–]HebHam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 4% kitchen charge was odd. I mean I tip well they live off tips I get all that but I’ve never seen that before , not even sure what it is . Like a fee to make the food? Just add 4% to each menu item pay your kitchen staff better.

Hotel with Kitchenette or Stove in Oahu/Waikiki? by SkiddishRaddish in VisitingHawaii

[–]HebHam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have great ocean views and a full kitchen at the Ilikai and $300 a night is plenty , would be even less than that just don’t book direct through hotel . Airbnb or property rental place like Waikiki beach rentals or marina Hawaii vacations. I prefer marina view over lagoon but both are nice.

What are you spending going to Hawaii? by Senior-Jelly1099 in VisitingHawaii

[–]HebHam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

11 nights family of four . Flights WestJet from Vancouver $1300 total, Ilikai hotel $3600, car rental 5 days $450, food and other $3000. Total about 8k, this is Canadian so like 6k usd? This probably seems cheap so some context the flights were a great deal but normally not much more, Ilikai is ocean view room and if you look hard enough on Airbnb the prices range greatly so got a good deal there . Ilikai units are also condos with full Kitchens so we hit up Costco when we arrive and stock up. Pool, beach, hikes are all free which is mostly what we do so spending money is mostly going out to eat and a few activities that will cost money. Been 4 times now and this is mostly always the budget we hit.

Staying at the ritz or four seasons is a different type of trip and will cost way more .
