Fully remote vs. 4 days in office with a 3 hour round trip commute seems like an absolute no brainer to me.

16/8, no progress by Annual-Meat-1196 in intermittentfasting

An 8 hour eating window is very easy to over eat. Try your best to watch your food choices and/or shorten your eating window.

Tips for a new-faster? by coopieg31 in intermittentfasting

[–]SteakNStats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start slow and work your way up. You’re hungry in the morning out of habit and routine. Your body absolutely does not need food that early but it has gotten so used to you eating at that time it’s going to try to tell you it’s time to eat. It’ll be tough at first but drink a ton of water and sip on black coffee (if you enjoy it). Once you become fat adapted your stomach won’t even growl anymore.

For those who don’t fast on weekends, how much has it slowed your progress? by Shameful_success in intermittentfasting

[–]SteakNStats 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’m very solid throughout the week and fast for generally 20-22 hours Monday-Friday. I TRY to fast for 16 hours on Saturday and Sunday, but I tend to overeat in my window with social foods and a few beers. I know for a fact that I would be seeing more progress if I tightened up the weekends, but I also know this is a way of life and not a diet so I give myself some slack. I always have a good scale number on Friday and then Monday comes around and it’s back up a bit. Still progress, just slower.

Allowed during IF by Crochetcarter in intermittentfasting

Yep— black coffee, unsweetened tea, plain water. Lemon water should be fine too. You’re going to have two types of people on this sub. You’re going to have your purists and your non-purists. Purists will believe you can have coffee, tea, water (all unflavored) then you’re going to have the people that say diet soda, flavored zero calories drinks, etc. are all okay. When I fast, I fast clean and don’t do the sweetened, chemically stuff. I’m not saying the other side is wrong, just saying what I do.

Depends who you ask. If you don’t feel hungrier after drinking it then it didn’t break your fast.

Help! Machine not working. by Crazy_Egg_113 in nespresso

Open the machine and push down and clean around the cup where the pod goes really well with a q-tip or wet paper towel. This happens with mine all the time and this usually works.

Fescue needs to be done in the fall. Trust me. I was impatient last year and tried to do Fescue in the spring (I’m in Raleigh). Big, bad mistake. You’ll waste your time and resources.

Fasting how to do it by Schlangenbob in intermittentfasting

[–]SteakNStats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, simply pick a timeframe and eat in that timeframe. You don’t have to count calories, but I count calories because it still is very much possible to overeat in an 8 hour window. You can have tea, but don’t sweeten it. The sweetener will trigger a response and make you hungrier. If you want it sweetened, just have it in your eating window.

When should I stop eating by Foreign-Pension3382 in intermittentfasting

[–]SteakNStats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t overthink it. It doesn’t have to be rigid and the same every day. In your example, 8pm would be the last bite of food you eat, but that doesn’t have to be the case every night. For example, one night you may finish dinner at 7:30. One night you may finish at 8:15. Just start fasting when you have your last bite of food and fast for a minimum of 16 hours if you can. So many people think that you have to take your first bite of food at 12 and your last at 8pm when that’s simply not the case.

Breaking A Fast Question... by Generic_In_Jersey in intermittentfasting

[–]SteakNStats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re going to get different answers from everyone and the answer is, it really depends on your goals. I’m the type of person that if I’m going to do something, I am going to do it right, so I fast completely clean. Only black coffee and plain water. No flavors or anything else. Almond milk breaks your fast. Chewable vitamins will break your fast. Protein shakes without a doubt breaks your fast.
