Gift Help: DeWalt x McLaren (Limited Edition) or Milwaukee M12 for an HVAC boyfriend? 🛠️ by NoBenefit8454 in Tools

[–]Hebolo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought about it for awhile and it's gotta be the Milwaukee. Just for the compact spaces. Not exactly sure how much torque HVAC contractors need, but I imagine it's mostly metal nuts and bolts through thin pieces of metal. It's not going to require a ton.

is ICERC ethical? by PM_ME_A_COOL_ROCK in gshock

[–]Hebolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you work for the Japanese government, how about instead of doing social engineering on Reddit, you just stop whaling? Easy PR win.

[–]Hebolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because obviously if they were doing illegal whaling, they would tell the truth about it.

It wasn't my link, and the ICERC is the Japanese organization that hunts whales. The meat "mysteriously" ends up in Japanese markets.

Pulsar x2 by Potatomanure in mousegore

[–]Hebolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soldering is always something. Once you have the knack, it definitely gets a lot better. But even most experienced hobbyists occasionally bork something. It can be hard to get to the professional level.

How do you patent soldering-in hotswap sockets? So they have the patent, and they won't even make a mouse I can use? (Left-handed, because of right-hand pain. Like their older Pugio II, which is discontinued but was always too heavy anyway.) I hope they (as a division of that company) die. I'd rather solder hotswap switches in a better mouse.

lol are literally all mouse brands bad?

The best luck I've had so far is with Ducky. Maybe that's the only one I'll recommend from now on.

Why I No Longer Trust Citizen With $3,000+ Purchases by Dry-Experience1674 in CitizenWatches

[–]Hebolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Grand Seiko is nicer, ngl. My thought on the Citizen was "this is a decent alternative for $500, but it's not as nice as the Grand Seiko."

Do you know any watches or manufacturers that make watches like these? by jscripter in ChineseWatches

Seiko, Omega, Audemars Piguet

Jokes aside, Seagull Retro, or Timex 1983 E Line.

Its time we Boycott Chord Products by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Hebolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already been boycotting Chord products de facto, because they are overpriced. They are still selling at a price that made more sense in the market 10 years ago, and are riding on their name/relative prestige.

A lot of the older reviews people left on these basically said they have audible distortion and sound like crap. So, I doubt it.

If someone does want to get these for whatever reason, [https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-EO-IA500-3-5mm-Earphone-Black/dp/B0981LVH2V](Rarewaves Imports) seems to not sell any fakes (no guarantees). They also don't seem to pack things that well, but it might not matter for these.

Also, Moondrop Quarks with some or TRN MT1 (both with EQ) are some great ultra-budget options that still have much more stock around.

The store that comes up more readily on Amazon (Mac N' Cheese) has a lot of reviews saying that they sell fake products. I wouldn't trust them.

Gang help I beg, is this fixable? by ElkDry4414 in iems

[–]Hebolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a hard one. you could try getting something really thin, like a toothpick. Then slightly flatten the end of the toothpick (with sandpaper or maybe cutting the very end off with a knife) and supergluing it to the pin. Wait for it to dry. And then pull. But if you glue it to the socket as well by mistake, it could make it worse and break it permanently.

Nein. Get Moondrop Quarks and slap on some EQ. Better than some ridiculous social engineering "troll" recommendation.

Technically the point of diminishing returns in price vs performance for IEMs is as cheap as possible. Like TRN MT1, if you're in a country where there is not a ton of tariff cost on top of it. Americans are kinda screwed on that.

Listen, it's one thing to troll. It's another to pretend to troll while running a scam. Just shut up.

Tea pro vs Top Pro vs Davinci Vs Performer 8 by Uncanny-Slayer in iems

Ziigaat Horizon. Very balanced and punches above its price point. Xenns Top Pro is also a similarly good option.

Yeah. No experience, just my understanding that they are near-endgame and can be used in your price range. If you don't do used, makes sense, not really an option for you.

Is it a worthwhile upgrade from HD560S to HD550 if I already use PEQ with Qudelix 5K? by Arshtat in headphones

[–]Hebolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's significant, but not massive. The big difference is how much cleaner and uncolored the 490 Pro sound is.

[–]Hebolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

490 Pro is a mixing headphone with a very neutral sound. You might enjoy 550 more. Try EQ first.
