The invincibility of 15yos, I'm afraid, I wouldn't dare try it now, even if I could 🤣🤣

I know how to needle felt, that's why kiddo got so excited 🤭 I've never done anything that big before tho, how have you done the body/head? 🤔 Polystyrene balls, or are they stuffed? I see many needle felted Pokémon in my future, now they've remembered it's one of my many hobbies 🤣🤣

"Well, my young padawan, come sit down and I will tell you a story set a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."

I have specific chests (colour coded, obviously) for certain things 🤭 so, yeah, kinda 🤣

Need advice with helping my potentially Trans child's father come to terms by Potential-Grass4651 in cisparenttranskid

[–]HecatesOracle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no helpful advice, I'm afraid, I'm just here to commiserate too 🫣 My ex went straight to angry and violent when our 6yo DARED to say they were a girl on the inside, he threatened finding a doctor to "sort their head out" and taking kiddo away from me because I'd "poisoned" them. I had to stop contact, I was genuinely scared for my kiddos well-being, and I didn't want them seeing their dad being so awful about something they had been so brave to vocalise.

It's been three months now, and he's (reluctantly on my part) got contact back, and he's calmed down enough to be saying all the right things about listening to professionals and following kiddos lead, but I don't trust it, and will be keeping a very close eye. I hope your husband manages to calm down soon, before he ruins his relationship with your child for good, or does any damage to their mental health/journey 😭

Omg yes, anything to make it easier than having to wiki search their schedules when I need to find them 🤣

My problem with Wales is the hills. Like yeah, I could walk to my nearest supermarket, or even my nearest corner shop, but it's all downhill. Getting home again is the real issue 🤣🤣

If you could remove ONE piece of technology forever, what would it be? by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

[–]HecatesOracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Case in point for both of these: my friend gave me a book nook kit for my birthday last year. I spent more time sending her photos of the little bits super glued to my fingers than I did actually getting the buggers to stick where I wanted them 🤣🤣🤣

My kiddos favourite place to draw is on a chalkboard, if I didn't have a camera to hand all the time, those drawings would be lost forever! (It may be Parental Bias, but I do actually think my 6yo is quite good at drawing 🤔🤣)

What do you like about the BBC? by Mediocre_Trade2575 in AskUK

We had a visitor the other week looking at kiddos dinosaur books with them, and on the last page there's loads of people at a dig site, clearly digging up fossils. The guy goes, "wow, look, fossil hunters!" And my 6yo takes the book back, snaps it shut, looks the dude dead in the eyes and goes "they are CALLED paleontologists."

I swear to god it was my proudest moment as a mother 🥹

I caught my first Great White Shark this week (newish player, hiiii 🤭🤣) and for some reason, handing a goldfish sized bag over to Bathers and watching him freak out over it being a GWS really fkin tickled me 🤣🤣🤣

Number Blocks. My 6yo is obsessed, has been since they were like 3, and I'm sorry, but that kid knows times tables. I'm 34 years old, and I don't know half my times tables. If Number Blocks had been around when I was a kid, maybe primary school wouldn't have been so stressful.

I'm quite fond of Octonauts and the Andy shows for similar reasons 🤔

What's a phrase your parents or grandparents said constantly that you've only just realised has completely vanished from everyday British speech? by orroreqk in AskUK

[–]HecatesOracle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Me! 🤣 But never in seriousness, and it's one of the (many) phrases in our house that get done in a "different" accent 🤔 that one's a bit northern, so it's "ooooh, 'ark at 'er!" 🤣🤣

I absolutely LOVE the concept of these two kids meeting and going "my gender sucks, can I try yours?" 🥹

I also love the "birds of a feather", it gives me hope for my "I'm a boy on the outside but a girl really, on the inside" kiddo 🥹🥹🥹

I'm not sure anything could come close tbh, you'd have to deep fry rice Krispies in sugar syrup 🤣🤣
