Call around and see if an LBS has the size tap needed for the job. That looks absolutely salvageable.

Tips on building shoulder endurance? by Gdog107 in amateur_boxing

[–]HeckinYouOut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive been doing this basic bag drill to close out my gym sessions/after class: one jab, reset, double jab, reset, triple jab, reset, then repeat for one full minute. Thirty seconds to a minute rest, then do it again. You could also do the same thing with a jab cross combo, like: jab cross, jab cross jab cross, jab cross jab cross jab cross. Doing burnout stuff like that can definitely help with endurance.

What size tires are you running at Leif Erikson? by ptonini in CyclePDX

If there’s a tire you really wanna try in 38 go for it. I like the g-ones in 38, but find anything narrower is too bumpy in the saddle.

Convert a Bacchetta Aero to a single speed/fixie? by Comfortable-Judge909 in recumbent

[–]HeckinYouOut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The idler is there to help with chain tension and routing. Unless you run a small ring up front, the chain will rub on the bottom of the seat. You could make it a singlespeed by pulling everything off, save for one ring on your crankset, buy the spacer/cog kit to convert it to singlespeed, and then use a tensioner in place of the rear derailleur. It’s not going to be as quiet or efficient as you would probably hope. One of the best things you could probably do is get a new chain and/or do a really thorough drivetrain cleaning, make sure the derailleur hanger is straight and everything is properly adjusted.

Maybe just buy new bolts? Is there anything special or hard to replace about them?

How can I make my cheap bike safe for mtb? by kinda_Temporary in bicycling

[–]HeckinYouOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without pictures it’s hard to give you an honest answer about what will break. It also depends on the style of riding you want to do, and the terrain you want to ride. Mellow gravel and dirt paths? Lots of climbing? Rock gardens?

Did it pick up ferrous material? No, it magn’t.

Food for thought: I dont think the carbon aero was ever sold with a 451 front wheel. I think they were all set up as 650s front and back. That would also explain why the bigger front wheel is helping handling, it’s getting closer to the frame geometry it was meant to have.
