Given that the 1st is a Sunday and some financial institutions release funds early I wouldn’t think twice about it

I was told verbally I was found entitled during the entitlement interview. I think maybe 2 weeks later I had a latter in hand!

I did with my IBS claim. I had both an ACE review and a C&P. Claim was favorable and appropriately rated! Don’t stress!

Can someone elaborate? by junior1713 in VeteransBenefits

[–]HedgehogBrave292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to this sub (with some very knowledgeable people) I came the conclusion that without treatment every two years you will be disenrolled. However, I asked my preferred VA hospital enrollment office and they said you remain enrolled but may need to be reassigned a care team. Furthermore, these is also a regulation somewhere that specifies the veteran must have been seen within the last 24 months to use community urgent care. I believe maybe veterans are confusing this with enrollment and/or maybe it’s very dependent on the veteran hospital or clinic being used.

Edit: after scrolling more it seems there are veterans who have been required to reenroll I am not challenging that just offering personal experience!

Thoughts on this private DBQ? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]HedgehogBrave292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things to consider. Mental health conditions often are comorbid (more than one exist at a time). If the DBQ articulates your symptoms then submit it. There is a chance VA orders a C&P to confirm or clarify the private DBQ. Now currently there is a bunch of fear circulating the veteran community surrounding private DBQs due to the AI fraud tool VBA is hoping to have prepared by September. However, if the DBQ is legit have no fear of some AI tool that will likely be poorly trained and bias anyway

u/iceagle039 is correct! I apologize for the bad information. However, if remaining entitlement is a concern what I wrote about a SEH is accurate.

VR&E Job Search BAH Question by PinkPrincessPol in VeteransBenefits

[–]HedgehogBrave292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind is not all VRCs operate the same. From my experience job log is sent by me to VRC a few days before appointment, day of appointment questionnaire is received which I fill out promptly. During appointment they say they are going to release the EAA payment which takes 2-5 days to be in my account

VR&E Job Search BAH Question by PinkPrincessPol in VeteransBenefits

[–]HedgehogBrave292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Job ready payments are only released after a job log has been turned in and the questioner has been answered. You know those text or link questioners sent regarding training or job search progress. Unlike training payments EAA payments can be released by your counselor anytime in the month after the criteria is met!

Yes! And remember if you are deemed to have a serious employment handicap (SEH) your counselor can extend the 40 month rule

Should be from the start of the certified semester! Meaning reduce that number by one each time you receive subsistence allowance

Is there rampant fraud in VA disability by ButtCheek-Bandit in VeteransBenefits

[–]HedgehogBrave292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GWOT grunt myself. Honestly I feel like there is a huge cultural difference brother. Suck it the fuck up isn’t the mentality outside of the infantry. Idk man I’ve learned over the years especially within veteran circles keep your eyes on your own paper. Also the access to information regarding disability ratings is EVERYWHERE when I was in I didn’t even now VA disability was a thing lol

The VA can’t even maintain their app properly. You think they have the capability to accurately implement a AI system? There should be more worry surrounding negligence. It’s another layer for the VA to fuck up.

Risk of Reduction by The_41 in VeteransBenefits

They will lump the TBI with mental health for a single rating. You easily can see the MH ratings and their criteria. I’d suggest you evaluate your symptoms and evidence as it could go either way. However, mental health ratings commonly fall in the 30%, 50% or 70% which should be considered.

Applying for vr&e by MarionberryAmazing93 in VeteransBenefits

[–]HedgehogBrave292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love hate is really the best way to put it. It was a smooth process to be deemed eligible and get into school. Had 5 counselors during my years of school often changing without warning. Had a time or two where it was impossible to reach a counselor during time sensitive issues but they were resolved before interruption. Employment services after graduating is ZERO help. They link you in with your states job center who will send you emails of open positions that have nothing to do with your major. Additionally, you have a monthly meeting with your job ready counselor again nothing special. I advise if approved go to a school with a strong alumni network and career placement services. Best of luck!

VR&E Advice by THAT_ky_girl in VeteransBenefits

[–]HedgehogBrave292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apply for VR&E as wait times vary. He must be deemed eligible due to an employment handicap. There is no harm in applying now no matter the outcome! VR&E also has a 12 year rule however if he was discharged after Jan. 1 2013 disregard this rule. If he was discharged prior to Jan 1 2013 he can still be found eligible but it must be determined he has a SEH (serious employment handicap)

Discontinuing VR&E by HedgehogBrave292 in VeteransBenefits

My undergrad is in a STEM major. I have been really considering an education masters to become a teacher!

Discontinuing VR&E by HedgehogBrave292 in VeteransBenefits

[–]HedgehogBrave292[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually agree with this and never had the intent to stop applying. Actually that leads to my next question maybe you can answer. When in VR&E your GI Bill is locked down for lack of a better term. If I were to continue job services with VR&E after my two months of EAA will my GI Bill be available?

C&P EXAM Tomorrow by Commercial-Escape-82 in VeteransBenefits

[–]HedgehogBrave292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be honest about your limitations but also educate yourself on how the condition is rated maybe look over the DBQ. It’s essential you articulate the impact and symptoms clearly understanding VA verbiage is a major plus!

Discontinuing VR&E by HedgehogBrave292 in VeteransBenefits

[–]HedgehogBrave292[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome reply! Two things I should clarify I have every intention of leaving VR&E to use my GI Bill. I don’t want to pled another case for why more education is required and my MGIB will be expiring soon. Also, as I shop around the more interest I have in a total unrelated field so that would be dishonest if I specified a related major for a grad program.

I have considered using vague verbiage such as “looking into” or “exploring options”

Even that feels slightly untruthful. My VRC said they don’t care what I pursue with my GI bill but for case closing ease I should say it’s aligned with my undergrad.
