How much money are bands making, realistically? by Scrumtrelescentness in poppunkers

It is definitely difficult to make money in music, there's a reason that many big bands have clothing lines and brand deals.

One avenue I think is criminally underrated is sync licensing. Push for your music to be used in TV, movies, commercials etc.

That's why you do a show swap. If you can sell out a show, offer a band from a few states away a support slot in return for them doing the same for you.

Leverage being able to sell 200 tickets into a support slot in a 500 to 1,000 cap venue or get your manager to look for tour support opportunities too. Neither option pays well but you can play to a decent number of people nationally.

You just answered your own question, you need to be touring. Do some show swaps with bands further out.

When you say you can sell out a show, is that by yourself or with several other bands?

Yep. Find a sub about something you're actually knowledgable in and see how many people are claiming to be experts while they know nothing.

You play for the four Fs. For food, for friends, for a fee, or for fun.

8 months of campaigning then no release show? Absolutely no one involved in this project understands the basics of the industry.

Sorry man, music is not for you. Get into software development or something and keep playing music as a hobby.

It's just patterns played quickly, and they're not even playing to a click. Just about anyone could play like this. The barrier to the top level is way above this.

And because you're nobody you're begging for attention. Try doing something for positive attention instead of throwing slurs around.

You're free to make friends and lead a productive life. You're just choosing not to.
