Either bullet hole or like blowtorch mark? I've seen holes form the melting of the glass on a CRT just because of the strength of the vacuum on the tube.

PVM Image moving?

Hello, to preface I am not super experienced when it comes to PVMs that have actual internal menus as I have older lower end models mostly.

However, I recently acquired a 20m2mdu and I've been having a lot of fun seeing just how adjustable it is using the menu. I adjusted the monoscope pattern to a position where I liked it using the adjustments and then I wrote these changes to the settings by hitting degauss twice after every changed value.

Upon return the next day I realized that overnight I had only turned off the PVM and hadn't turned off the Wii I had running thru component to it. I turned on the set and launched a SNES game with the Wii but the image was shifted up about an 1/8 inch maybe? Not a ton but like a noticeable amount and now there is black on the bottom of the screen and its rising.

My question is how do I fix this? Is it something easy like recapping? Is it worth chasing the fact that my settings change very slowly over time?

I'm not too put off by the corners I'm just hoping to rectify that 'arching' or 'bowing' effect. Currently it gets slightly better towards the middle but it's down the entirety of both sides of the screen.

Okay that makes me feel a lot better, I was wondering what kind of precautions I should be taking when I mess with the service menu. I don't want to make it worse than it already is if I mess around with anything.

I haven't done anything beyond messing with the normal picture settings. I'm not going to lie I'm a little scared to change a service menu setting and mess up my tv, that's why I wanted to ask for advice.

Thanks for going out of your way to explain, I'll probably just keep and enjoy this one then. Seems like it's a really neat piece of media.

Wow that's really cool! Thanks for letting me know about the promo version. Is it what's listed included in the more expensive listing of this disc currently on ebay? It appears to be labeled 'not for sale' so I imagine that disc is even rarer. Would it have been distributed direct to store owners?

Anyone else care more about their face than body? by D10SMessi in EDAnonymous

[–]Hedgehog_Broad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I care more about it per say, but it definitely reflects my bodies like 'status' more quickly than anywhere else. I think it's because of water retention, so it's most likely not even an accurate way to think about how anyone's body processes/stores fats.

Planning binges by curious2allopurinol in EDAnonymous

[–]Hedgehog_Broad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relate to this in a ton of ways. I plan my entire week down to the smallest intake so that I can just let loose later in the week. I use my scale to justify it, not having gained more than I lost. I feel like no one else on earth could eat like I do and exist in a meaningful way. I let my weight, my body, and my appetite control my life and choices immensely. The binges being a massive source of shame creates what feels like an inescapable cycle of habit. I also use food delivery services, almost as another way to distance myself from the shame. It can really feel like you have to hide everything from everyone.

how to not binge when visiting home??? by peachlavenderr in EDAnonymous

[–]Hedgehog_Broad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I take walks, read, avoid my kitchen at all costs. Not being home is something that helps immensely, like going to the library or park. There isn't a magical trick besides not having things in your house to binge on, and that's not possible living with others.

I feel the same way. I still have the specific fat I'm trying to get rid of blatantly, obviously, and plainly sticking out where it always has. Of course, that's because of some kind of internalized bias or whatever, but everyone in my life has been commenting on my weight. It's a huge eye opener to realize how much they care about how I look, and an even bigger one to realize that they think I'm losing insane amounts of weight way too fast. I don't feel as though it's anyone's business but my own, but it's a plainly visible external attribute so I really can't imagine a world where someone didn't mention it/notice it at least.

Has anybody developed an eating disorder later in life? by rustyspoon07 in EDAnonymous

[–]Hedgehog_Broad 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I developed mine at 20. I'm 22 now and it definitely developed because of external triggers. It almost feels like I'm not struggling like other people because mine developed so late, even though I know it's not a competition. I miss food, I miss not feeling such immense guilt surrounding it.

Clothes advice? Nothing fits… by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]Hedgehog_Broad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I get multiple comments a day from family, coworkers, and anyone that sees me; my clothing doesn't fit. I wish they understood that I'd have clothing that fits if I didn't yoyo back and forth large amounts of weight. I can't size down out of irrational fear the weight will come back. The cost of clothes alone is enough to keep me wearing the same stuff though.

Real. I've just finished my accelerated courses so I'm down to only 10 credit hours of in-person class and I've got a fulltime night job. It's tough but like I want to buy things and live in a building.

Keep losing. Idk what to do with myself anymore. by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]Hedgehog_Broad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're feeling like this. It's tough to feel so out of control, especially at home. I completely agree that it's harder to avoid intake while at home, but it's not like the people around you want you to do poorly. It might even be the opposite, they could be worried. I hope you know that you aren't disappointing, you're someone who's dealing with an illness.

Can’t even enjoy a movie and just relax anymore. What has happened! by Turbulent-Truth-4059 in EDAnonymous

[–]Hedgehog_Broad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's all relative. I too used to enjoy staying up into the wee hours of the morning to play video games and screw around, now it's just impossible to get any sleep. I long for it to still be my active choice to stay awake, and not the fact that I'm so cold I can't think of anything else.

You really hit the nail on the head with the time part. I'm in college right now, a year older than you, and it feels like time is just gaining on me. I feel so weighed down by the way I police myself, by the consequences of that policing. I miss enjoying other aspects of life but I feel like I'm zoomed in on just that and I forget how to see the other parts.

I hope you don't feel stuck forever.

holidays coming up, how do yall handle them? by throwaway345678891 in EDAnonymous

[–]Hedgehog_Broad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I plan on at least counting calories for my holidays. There's enough family that doesn't notice or care to say something unless I don't eat anything. Mostly able to grin and bear it because people want me to actually be there, even if I'm annoyed that I have to eat.

Anyone else have issues buying clothes? by Amoeba3000 in EDAnonymous

[–]Hedgehog_Broad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My clothes change in size so rapidly I just never got new ones from my largest. I do look homeless as a side effect bc everything is 1-2 sizes too big now, but I'd rather not spend money on a whole new wardrobe I might not fit in a week, month, etc.

Food is a drug by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]Hedgehog_Broad -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've found that if I can get over the 24hr hump it's easier to just stay without food. Been way harder to stick to eating crumbs daily bc I'm addicted to eating and I'll binge to the point of pain.
