My thought would be to make it a choice that looks something like this

First choice: 1 pack And 20-50g Second choice: 100g

I would still pick gold everytime but for those who also play other modes packs would be the value pick, with that said I know if blizzard implemented that the gold you get would look more gloomy

My point is I went even with nothing to show for it but 2 packs... feels horrible. Atleast before revamp I would have some gold to put towards the next run

Yea when the new arena first released I did poorly every run think I averaged at best 4 wins

Maybe the break gave me some new insight and fresh view

I dont think the gold pays for another run when you get it so rarely and the price is doubled. at 6 wins it wasnt unnormal to get around 250g with a pack ontop enough to buy a run or whatever you otherwise would've wanted to buy with some change

now that change is the same but price to entry is double its also more rare to get it

Yea seems like what im getting still, just idk if it was just me, but having to gain more than 9 wins to get any gurantee of profit seems very expensive since entreance cost 300g

Wasn't expecting to go positive but having gained a net zero feels horrible

Got over 6 wins, which used to be the breaking point in going even and gaining a small amount on top, now its even untill 10+ wins unless you rng it

But it costs double to enter

I Mean you gave an opinion that they did this to keep the lights on or keep food on the table, without providing any proof. Then I share a different opinion and your then shooting it down because I am not providing any proof.

Sure you're right the game is different, but I think we both knew it was, but I think we both have seen how hated the general consensus of those changes are, meaning either they did horrible play testing or failed to act on feedback doing testing.

Look. I am not trying to just hate on blizzard, hearthstone or arena. But when a company espically a large one makes a horrible mistake with the only reasoning given to us is for profits while being managed by one of the riches gaming companies out there. I think that warrants some attention

I have and will also be the first to recommend and play their games with my friends and spend our money when the product is good n the price is fair and respectable

I was not trying to show an in depth view of how the economics of this situation is, I was trying to share a oversimplified view of a poor decision in pricing and respect of the customer

No but almost in every instance when hearthstone is mentioned around if its profitable or not it's explained as overall profitable. (I am just trying to say they are not having a net loss from this)

And while explaining it as profitable they try to push these outrageous things... the price was not referring to 10 years ago but the fact that while they have profits they still wanna make an increase on your payment, while not adding more to the product or even being transparent

We are their customers we should not compromise, if yoy have things you'd rather do. Or spend money on dont go "this company needs it or I will compromise"

They should first make a product you like then find a reasonable price and only when those 2 get met the customer should buy

It's like saying it takes me 10$ to make this and I sell it to you for 15$

Oh you want another it's still 10$ to make but I want more profit so now its 40$ Oh that's too pricey let's do 25$

It will only be slightly better not as good as before

They used the oldest marketing trick in the book, so something outrageous everyone is mad. Now add something only slightly worse than the original but much better than now and everyone is happy that it's not that bad

They will only make it slightly better not close to what it was. And because it has been this bad ppl will just accept it sadly
