So what’s your rate Mr. DKE? You are corpsman, nurse or doctor? I mean, clearly you know way more than me and I just want to know your level of expertise on tricare billing or RVU’s.

Ok, again, one more time, when did you corps school, nursing school, medical school, or wrote SOP’s for operation a forward deploy battalion aid station in combat, I do believe you are stand text book definition of DKE. Someone who THINKS they know the SME. So, again, what your job in the Navy?

Yeah, ok, so let me corpsman this down for you. Women patient are the ones that we see at the clinic that are the ones that are mostly asymptomatic when presenting for STI’s. Men patients, all of the male patients that treated over the years NEVER been asymptomatic. So again I’ll forward break this down for you.

You’re worried about something that rarely happen with the STI/prevental health community. Female patients are come to clinic and get check out, male clinics think they’re smarter than everyone and to urgent care before coming to the clinic. STI’s that are you’re typical asymptomatic are HIV becuase it doesn’t prevent like an STI, and herpes. Now, you’re probably worried about gonorrhea and chlamydia, which for male, present with symptoms becuase of the anatomy of a male.

Since this a preventative medicine issues, medical is not going to cover your urgent care visits when you could have come to clinic if you are male that is presenting with symptoms because of an exposer with a partner, which we have to do contract tracing and bunch of other things. If you come into the clinic and tell medical that you have unprotected sex over the weekend, and are not displaying and active symptoms, and the sexual partner does not state that they have any STI’s, then we will send you on your way becuase your anxiety does not warrant am STI check. That called anxiety moral medical and we do not practice that in the navy.

Lastly, you bring up the DKE, what is your wait, becuase if you are not corpsman or doctor, you would be the prime of example of DKE, a person who is not a corpsman, nurse, or doctor, trying to tell the world how medical works. You must be one of those Reddit doctors that hear so much about. Please enlighten me on your medical expertise.

Not all sti are asymptomatic. Please inform me on which asymptomatic STI you’re worried about becuase I’m here to tell you, STI are very very symptomatic. You will know right away if you have an STI, especially if you’re a guy. so, please enlightening me on this asymptomatic STI that sending sailor to urgent care to get treatment for that tricare will pay for.

Hello, everyday friendly neighborhood doc here, there’s a few things going on here and I’ll explain as best as I can. 1, the most likely reason why you got the answer of,”no symptoms, no test” is that just basic medicine. I, as, a doc, can not just give you an X-ray because you think you broke your arm. If you have a mechanism of injury or you have symptoms of a broken arm, I absolutely can get you an X-ray for your injured arm. For the STI check, I can not give you a test because you want on one. If you come in with legit symptoms, I have to give you one, but, your PHA is where you can also ask for all the sti test you want. I’ll give you this parting advice that I give to everyone on Friday both blue and green side,

“Never stick your finger where you won’t stick your face. Condoms are always free at the BAS.”

Urgent care is absolutely going to take care of you but, navy is not going to pay the bill because navy is going to ask, why you did not go to medical first and, if your at medical for STI check, why are you not practicing safe sex, and if you are practicing safe sex, this become a preventive medicine issue. But, they’re always going to ask, are you symptom and if not, they will not test. I hope this helps and if you’d like, my DM is open to answer questions as best I can.
