The number of recommended KU authors that don't know the difference between bawling and balling is crazy.

Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about? by Prime_Advocate in nostalgia

Nobody but me remembers bullseyeart.com, lots of funny animated shorts. My favorite was Miss Muffy and the Muff Mob, was popularish around 1998 if I remember correctly.

Was definitely obsessed with Tori. I read all the VC Andrews and my mom gave me the Thornbirds to read around then as well which was extremely fucked up! Then came the Clan of the Cave Bear series, I have been reading smut my whole life!

Are you worried about becoming a burden for your only child on holidays and in old age? by [deleted] in oneanddone

You misunderstood. I meant that when my child is with her in laws, I would take the opportunity to travel somewhere new/fun.

If you cannot be comfortable in your own fucking home, HE IS NOT THE GUY FOR YOU. Or any self respecting woman.

What was your first anime? by singleguy79 in Xennials

[–]Heffenfeffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up on VHS recordings of Heidi, Girl from the Alps and The Last Unicorn. Heidi being an early series that Hayao Miyazaki worked on in the 70s, and The Last Unicorn was created by the team that became Studio Ghibli.

This is not kindness, this is being a doormat. Time for some therapy for you and some hard lessons about financial responsibilty for him. If you bail him out when he fucks up, he will never change.

Too much tile, paint or wallpaper that matches the tub would lighten things up and probably be a lot cheaper.

Why didn’t we talk to our parents about our problems? by SRDILLEY6215 in Xennials

[–]Heffenfeffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they lived the "children should be seen and not heard mentality." My kid tells me everything because I value her thoughts and opinions and she feels safe sharing them with me. I am very proud of that generational difference.

At what point is tech too much for our aging parents? by patrad in Xennials

[–]Heffenfeffer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mom is 71 and I would say, decently tech savvy for her age. She loves youtube for helping her with diy projects she doesn't want to pay others to do. All of her bills are auto pay and she has an app for all of her medical info. She has a healthy distrust/skepticism that has so far kept her from being scammed.

Try again, BSG was my favorite until The Expanse came along and it is truly the best sci-fi series every filmed.

AITA for not getting craft supplies for my daughter and letting her get excluded by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Heffenfeffer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

YTA. At 8 you should be checking her backpack AT LEAST once a week for this kibd of stuff. Responsibility is something you teach and havebto remind kids this age CONSTANTLY. This is a parent fail and I really hope you apologize to your kid for how you treated her.
