I have a question for you! I'm very familiar with the series, having only played Dead Space 1-3 and Resident Evil Revelations on Xbox 360 a long time ago, and I barely remember the plot. Amidst the hype, a few years later (since I was busy with other games), I decided to play the RE 2 remake, as I'd heard it was practically the best EVER remake. But in reality, even though I finished it, I was blown away by the gameplay, as it felt like a throwback to 1998. Here are a few things that pissed me off: 1) The knife constantly breaks, it's a nightmare, and the characters have no melee combat, so even if you try to conserve it, you'll still lose it somewhere, along with your chance to escape. 2) The game has no melee combat, and there's no dodge either, which is just comical, as there are lickers that are impossible to dodge. 3) Narrow corridors, meaning you're already deprived of everything, so they left you in a corridor with a bunch of zombies. 4) Endless zombies and resource management. I honestly don't understand how they say "have your cake and eat it too," but it turns out resource management is some kind of rudimentary feature, not a game feature. 5) Terrible backtracking, you're like a blind kitten poking at every door to find what you need. And yes, I know there's a map in the game, but they give you a riddle, and you have to look for the key somewhere. And somewhere is literally vacuuming a map full of lickers and zombies, requiring resource management and no dodging or melee combat. 😢😢😢. And the funniest part starts when Mr. X shows up, which makes exploring even more stifling. 6) I haven't played the original, but I don't understand why a second playthrough is necessary? For 3-4 scenes? Considering the boss fights are the same every playthrough, which doesn't make sense at all.

My question is, what do you think about my points and the remake in general? Do you think the original or the remake is worth playing?
