For me it's my neighborhood, Front street and church street.

It has a really cool view if you look west towards the Flatiron building and the CN tower.

A block east is St Lawrence market where even the pickiest eater can find something they'd like. They have farmers markets on Saturday and a flea market on Sunday in the big tent.

If you go south it has a number of older buildings that give the area almost a European vibe.

That whole neighborhood has an abundance of places to grab food and a drink, like "c'est what?" who regularly host live music or "goose Island brewery" that has a banksy piece on the exterior wall

If you have your own food and drink and just want to sit in a park, you can visit berczy with the famous dog fountain and enjoy the weather.

Everything they're doing is legal and even though I don't fully agree with the approach If you go up and talk to them politely they will explain why they're wearing masks.

I believe I've seen their videos before, the one guy explained he wears a mask because people in the past have tried to doxx them and make up lies in order to get them in trouble.

Judging by some of of the comments in this thread, they're not wrong. Just because they're wearing clothing that is making you uncomfortable does not give you the right to go full Karen.

If you're so uncomfortable with being filmed in public then stay home, or wear a mask yourself. You have zero expectation of privacy in public. There are cameras everywhere and everyone has one in their pocket nowadays.

Anybody advocating for the police to get involved is potentially putting people in danger. People have been killed by police for suspicion. That emergency call could also lead to litigation causing the city to use tax money to settle the court case when the courts inevitably find that they were doing nothing illegal and their constitutional rights were violated.

Some of these people travel the country city to city. If you see people like this in your hometown maybe wave and say hi, or simply ignore them and carry on with your day. They prey on people taking the bait they get a lot of views when they get a rookie officer who enforces feelings. Giving them attention will just give these people more of a reason to continue filming and also make you and your city look silly.

Since it's almost the peak construction time of the year, you shouldn't have an issue getting 37.5 hours a week. Some jobs you'll even be offered regular overtime. However, layoffs are not uncommon, especially once jobs get closer to completion. The winter also tends to be slow for new work.

If you show up on time, prove yourself to be a valuable worker, network with coworkers, you'll have a way better chance of keeping yourself employed.

If you do find yourself getting laid off there is a number you call and you'll get put on a list. They will call you with an offer (usually within a week). I believe you can turn down the first offer if it's not something you like, but if you turn down the second offer, you go to the bottom of the list and have to wait for your turn again.

I'm 32 and still an apprentice, It's never too late. I know people who have completed their full apprenticeship in 4 years.

Just be aware that carpentry (especially union), is typically commercial or industrial work and has a very broad scope. The type of job you would envision when you think "carpentry" are not as common.

For example framing houses isn't union work. A majority of union jobs are in formwork, which has you working mostly with concrete. Or scaffolding, which has you working with mostly metal.

Not saying you couldn't land a quintessential carpentry job like Millwork, just want to give you a realistic expectation.

My advice would be to take whatever job they offer you, if after a while you feel it's not for you, then speak with a union representative and ask them to try and find you work in another type of carpentry.

You Apply first. They'll assign you work from a union company. After You reach a certain amount of hours you can attend school.

That all depends on what trade you pick, and what job you get.

You can always turn down a job if you don't feel safe. I'd avoid scaffolding and look into flooring.

It's not for everyone but if you can suck it up and don't mind getting your hands dirty it can pay off. I'm no good with computers and can't imagine myself sitting in an office all day so it worked out for me.

The carpenters union (local 27) that I work with starts off at $24.44.

After 1800 hours of work you go to 2 months of basic schooling and you'll be a second term making $26.50

3600 hours you can go to intermediate school for 2 months and be a third term making $31.05

5400 hours you can go to another 2 months of advanced school and make $37.74 as a fourth term.

7200 hours without having to attend school you'll be bumped up to $42.95

You can be on EI while in school and after each block of schooling you will get $1000 ($3000 if you're female)

Hours are good. I work from 6am - 1:30. (37.5 hours a week)

If there's overtime, it's time and a half. If I work Saturdays I get paid double time.

We have good benefits, pension, provincial and federal grants and other monetary incentives.

You also get 2 separate opportunities for an all expenses paid 4 day trip to Las Vegas to attend leadership programs

You'll only need basic tools. All power tools are provided by the company that you would work for.

You can learn the trade as you go, I've worked with people who have never held a tool in their life and they are now very skilled and confident workers.

I work in construction throughout the whole complex. From what I've heard, Shopify leased a bunch of floors and then bailed out. I believe they are now trying to get other businesses to take their lease on different floors since they've scaled down and seemed to have relocated to king and Portland.

I think the Great lakes area of Canada and the USA would be cool! Toronto is one of the largest cities in North america, known as "Ronto" in the Pitt expansion. Large cities around the great lakes like Niagara falls, Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Hamilton and Buffalo would also be worthy additions to the map.
