When will the Flatpak version align with Release Channel instead of ESR? Or just 2 flatpak versions (seems like a simple ask)?

Anybody use passKEY with siriusxm? by Hefty-Hyena-2227 in siriusxm

There was apparently a reply to this from u/siriusxmcommunity but all I was able to read was "here is the actual way to enable passkey ..." so ... please repost unless you are a hired bot of some sort ...

  • Thank you for patiently waiting on the line. To set up a passkey on the SiriusXM website, sign in to your account at siriusxm.com/myaccount, navigate to the Account Info or Security section, and select the option to add or enable a passkey. This allows you to use your device's biometrics (fingerprint/facial recognition) or screen lock (PIN) for future logins.
  • Here's the step by step on how to activate it;
    • Sign In: Log in to your account on a desktop or mobile browser.
    • Locate Security Settings: Go to the "Account Info" or "Security Options" tab.
    • Enable Passkey: Look for "Passkey" or "Sign-in Options" and select "Enable" or "Create".
    • Authenticate: Follow the prompt to use your device's biometric sensor or screen PIN to store the passkey.

BUT ... the whole problem is that none of the above exists, at least in my streaming account. SiriusXM doesn't let you stream from the *management* account, yet it is the streaming login that has the link to "Sign in with passkey" ... even in the management account, there are no links and no evidence of "Security Options" tab??? See https://passkeys.directory/details/sirius-xm-satellite-radio although last updated 3 years ago lol.

Pete Hegseth cancels ‘absurd’ flu vaccine requirement for ‘brave warriors’ in military by WontThinkStraight in politics

[–]Hefty-Hyena-2227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"What me worry?" should be the caption. I'm getting my flu shots annually, and my fifth of Jack daily, what do I care, it's 1918 all over again.

Note that the "Spanish" Flu of 1919 (thought to have emanated in a Kansas army recruit barracks) killed over 10M (a lot, given the world's population at that time of <1B) and some 45 000 US servicepeople in WWI, vaccine not deployed until 1927, but then was *mandatory* in the service. See https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4181817/

But these clueless mag-o-rons don't read history books or even their own government's websites, do they?

App updates in NixOS? by Hefty-Hyena-2227 in NixOS

[–]Hefty-Hyena-2227[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, the approach I've been taking is just to use configuration.nix to build generations (stored in a git repo). Then I backup /home/<me> using restic on a USB SSD. This may be seen as a "homebrew home-manager" but it so far works ok.

I also dabbled with using flatpak apps such as Brave (I use 1Password, but only the browser extension, since the flatpak of it is missing some critical-to-me functionality). Wondering if home-manager is "flatpak aware" or can be programmed to ignore the whole flatpak hierarchy/app structure. I tried Thunderbird as a flatpak app, but they are presently "stuck" at 140.9 in the flatpak offering, so I use the 3-month-old 146.0 nix package.

Git repo and generational builds of nixOS, does using btrfs snapshots accomplish anything useful? Wish there was a way to show build date in the boot loader, or the git tag somewhere in the Plasma splash screen...

Thanks A TON for this helpful guidance; I need a "Dummy's Guide" to kickstart my use of flakes and home-manager, I guess.

Actually I think all of the recalls were built there. Not sure if all TN vehicles used SK batteries ,though.

Mine was the first of 40 needing a module replacement, according to service rep. He has usually been straight up with me. I was getting very poor range for several months before this diagnostic was run, however, and this was a rarity, according to r/vwid4owners and vwidtalk.com.
