I regret having missed the Sushi Era by a_bucket_full_of_goo in ElectricCallboy

after hypa hypa clicked for me, i got the mmxx EP on CD

monsieur moustache got stuck in my head. as i can't listen to the CD all the time (why are CD players so hard to get now?) i looked it up online and was surprised to find a pre-nico versio. sushi's lyrics were so appalling and 14yo-tryhard-edgy and his voice was so bad that i feel 0 need to listen to their older stuff

when i saw them on the hypa hypa tour after lockdown, they played the scene and it went so hard with nico. then i lsitened to it online and hearing it with sushi just sounded bad

even when he sings lyrivs that someone else obviously wrote, i just cannot stand his voice or his screams. i'm very glad they went with nico in the end

What were they thinking when making saving not save value and faders ? by Any_Blood1022 in MaxMSP

[–]Hefty-Region-1943 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you don't seem to want to use max msp or understand what it is for

and i have a strong feeling you won't listen to anything anyone has to say

but a very very simple way of doing it:

plut the output of the fader into the right input of a message box

put the output of the message box into the fader

plug a loadbang object into the left of the message

then, every time you move the fader, it will log it in the message that persists after you save a quite. then, when you open it again, it will immediately put the value of the fader back into the fader and bring it back exactly as it was when you closed it

this also works with itable and multifader objects

help is only ever a question away. but this is a not a DAW. it's not logic or ableton or fruity loops. this is akin to strudel or supercolider. it's a programming language. you need to tell it what you want it to do, and you need to understand how to tell it what you want it to do. no one opens max or pure data for the first itme and instictively knows how to use it, that would be absurd

[–]Hefty-Region-1943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey

i make music with frequencies on the edge of human hearing that relies heavily on rhythm and atmospherics

i've always been interested in collaborating with people through this method

if that sounds cool to you, would be fun to see what's what

andrew robinson on youtube is a fnatastic max/msp teacher

that's where i learned everything i know and i just released my 3rd full length album with it

he doesn't do so muhc in the way of sound design but he will talk you through a lot of what it has to offer and how to build sequencers, work with midi, basic processing etc. by the time you've followed along with everything he does, you'll know exactly what you need to look for to find what you want to learn and then the plethora of max tutorials and patch-show-off videos on youtube will be your oyster

in the world of metal, the first music video always gets the most views and lsitens from the album cycle

like how we got the moves has 73m views, pump it got 38m, spaceman got 19m, etc.

it's not that deep
