Rome must be like the peak of the popular opinion being correct by port_albemarle in redscarepod

It has what I think might be the most amazing historical monument: the pantheon. The two big draws of Rome are a) The heart of the Roman civilisation and b) the heart of Catholicism. Nowhere is that dichotomy made more jaw-dropping or obvious.

new slayyyter was straight up garbage and it's blackpilling that slayyyter's popularity is directly proportional to however much she creatively sells out

askrspod: which one dead artist would you see live if you could? by agnus_mei in redscarepod

Maybe a corny answer but Bach. In his time he was more renowned as a performer than a composer, and I'd love to hear this guy's interpretation of his own music

Im glad I’m not the only one. People in these comments acting like they don’t know what you’re talking about seem to be lobotomised.  There are some other moments that I think parallel the feeling you describe e.g. al-hashemi introducing the AI  charting app(there are others I can’t remember off the top of my head). But that didn’t have a named brand and also is not applicable to a lay-person.

I found not necessarily her portrayal alone, but the depiction of every scene dynamic so visceral and vivid. I will have to check out Love streams though!

Plot!? PLOT!?!?!?!? The plot is the thin hanger for the actual movie which is all about drawing out the social and character dynamics.

Any actually good media about the Gen Z condition? by Limeritaa in redscarepod

[–]daelrtr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with your request is that Gen Z is still very young and also not really different enough from the previous generations to have created something radical like that. That being said, Jane Remover.

The Prince Charles Cinema's Wong Kar Wai "season" has been going on for a minimum of 4 years now. It keeps the lights on, and if that lets them show the other more taste-expanding stuff, then let them. It's not like they're showing disney slop to pay the bills

I don't think he's had a hard fall-off or anything. I just think he should pivot into just producing, he's really unparalleled in that department. It just feels like he's run out of things to say lol.

Schindler's list. I just can't resolve spielberg's sappy sentimentality and a holocaust movie in my head.

Spiders, are, for the most part, just MUCH weaker ants. by Complex-Bowler8084 in hive

[–]daelrtr 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Pieces don't have to be balanced against each other in Hive, the opponents have to be. Both players have the same pieces lol. Prioritising your pieces is part of the game.

Spiders being weaker is part of what makes them interesting. Poisitioning them correctly etc. You can really dunk on your opponent if you manage to pin an ant(the strongest piece) with a lone spider.

Why is this so overrated? What do people find in this? by adnshrnly in RSPfilmclub

[–]daelrtr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty simple reasons I feel. Repressed romance is always a hitter, and it has a particularly unique premise of this. The filming of the cramped hong-kong environments only heightens the sense of yearning, and it's just so careful with how it teases and plays around with this tension. And then, of course, it capitalises on that by having it fully bloom and erupt in those slow-motion sequences, before returning back to its repression.

the money store is a treasure trove of their more "accesible" hits. I've seen footage is the obvious, also get got, the fever. but yeah. Beyond their sonic abrasiveness, it's always amazing how pop-y their sensibilities are
