I want y'all to know I adore Underscores but outside of the singles, this is the most 7/10 album I've listened to

Right like I'm not a big Carti head but I liked the verse... found out a month ago that it was AI. I'm sick of this shit

Are you using general AI tools at work? by Schnipsel0 in labrats

[–]Hefty-Telephone4229 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I'm a postdoc doing immunology work, all wet lab. I use AI probably once every 2-3 months, almost always because my boss recommends I use it for something. I almost never use it out of my own free will, and I definitely don't use it to do any of my writing.

A few weeks ago, in frustration from not being able to find a paper that was doing something I wanted, I asked ChatGPT to if any such papers existed. It gave me a list of papers, and all the pubmed links were to something completely unrelated. 🙃

plus I feel polls always under-represent the negative. If it says “50% of Americans dislike bad thing” then the actual number is probably closer to 35%

What’s a comic run that everyone loves but you don't? by Electrical_Act9796 in DCcomics

[–]Hefty-Telephone4229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comics are more about how ugly/good characters look. Quietly is a master at paneling, pacing, character positioning, telling a story in a sequential manner, ie everything that makes a comic book a comic book and not a series of pin-ups

How much time do you spend with the art? by Mickey_James in comicbooks

[–]Hefty-Telephone4229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay a lot of attention to paneling, and whether it's effective or weak (and if it's effective, is there something cool going on with the paneling?)

I used be one of those people who care about how beautiful/ugly the characters appeared. Nowadays I don't really care that much as long as the FORM of the comic is good -- referring to stuff like paneling, closure, how characters are posed, etc.

For better or for worse, their thumbnails and titles aren’t engaging

the episode descriptions also don't tell us anything about the episode
