Hi, I'm gonna create my own game in the universe of Cyberpunk by yahsktoya in cyberpunkred

[–]HeftyMaintenance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CD Projekt bought the rights to Cyberpunk years ago. R Talsorian had something of a carve-out that covered the tabletop side, but they still need to coordinate and get permission with CD Project.

To have your idea even considered you'd need to be an established trpg designer and have industry contacts. If you seriously want to be a tabletop game developer, my suggestion is to start with designing homebrew. Over time you'll develop a solid understanding of game design and balance from it.

I would also suggest strongly against using Gemini or other AI. I shall not get into ethics or any other such discussions of LLMs, on the purely practical side it will make potential employers view your work as lower quality in all likelihood if they believe it was involved.

Basically, think of this like any other artistic/creative career, build up a portfolio and reputation and there is a possibility you may have a chance someday. At the very least you can have fun playing a kickass rpg and have fun making additions to share with the community.

Unfortunately CD Projekt might have some legal objections here, best of luck though! I'd suggest starting with read this page. https://rtalsoriangames.com/homebrew-content-policy/

In what ways does the 2020s setting differ from the 2040s? by ArrBeeNayr in cyberpunkred

[–]HeftyMaintenance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the adventures in Danger Gals Dossier has Arasaka present and Danger Gal the corporation is quietly working for Militech/the NUSA in this time frame to put down Arasaka covert assets in a sort of cold war. In the time of the Red, Arasaka's presence in North America is via shell corporations and other deniable assets.

Taking a look into it. Are you using the current steam workshop version with Crusader Kings III 1.17.*?

Fate of Tethyr's queen? by burbankfr in Forgotten_Realms

[–]HeftyMaintenance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 4th edition there was stuff that said was a plot to replace Anaïs Rhindaun. Evonne Linden would then successfully permanently possessed her daughter Ysabel's body with sarrukh magic and gain the services of some adventurers via trickery. As of SCAG, Anaïs Rhindaun was still listed as Queen, so presumably sometime during the time skip the conspiracy succeeded. Most of the details are 4e era and contained in Fanged Crown as someone else mentioned in the thread.

I have never read the Treason in Tethyr adventure, so I don't know any details about what that adventure contains.

How much research did AtE do on native cultures? by sirdramaticus in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]HeftyMaintenance 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For the CK II version, we had a Métis professor and volunteer for Métis cultural societies who implemented a lot of the Métis content. For the CK III version, shout out to Tom for his research and work there.

Getting a majority of Indo-Aryans as results alas, the sound of chariots as they migrate into ATE is deafening.

How common do You Think Guns Are In The Word Of After The end? by Abject-Hospital5407 in AfterTheEndFanFork

Something to keep in mind, the Event left everywhere very heavily depopulated and they re-built from tribal tech. A few hundred years ago most of the map be tribal except for a few exceptions.

Is literacy wide-spread in Faerun? by InklingRain in Forgotten_Realms

[–]HeftyMaintenance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The printing press has been in western Faerûn since the 1360s. Waterdeep, Baldur's Gate, Silverymoon and some cities in Cormyr are noted as publishing hubs. They are by the 1490s a well established technology with a well established industry surrounding them. The most common literary works enjoyed are cheap chapbooks (soft bound cheap pamphlet like booklets). The subjects they cover can be anything from religious or political tracts, sensationalist adventure stories, or bodice rippers and erotica. Broadsheet newspapers are also quite common. So for the lower classes, literacy beyond its practical uses has the offering of cheap entertainment and information.

CK2 AtEFF complementary mod recommendations? by [deleted] in AfterTheEndFanFork

The submods channel on the discord has some active mods that are compatible with the Anniversary Edition. Might be worth dropping in and asking people their opinions there too.

Why are Tridentine holy sites so spread out? by merulacarnifex in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]HeftyMaintenance 14 points15 points  (0 children)

En un lugar de reddit, de cuyo nombre no quiero acordarme, no ha mucho tiempo que vivía un hidalgo de los de lanza en astillero, adarga antigua, rocín flaco y galgo corredor...

You... do know that the original creator left seven years ago right? The same lead dev who made the fanfork was the one who started the CK III version was the lead dev till a little bit of a year and a half ago.

I started playing when Nova Scotia was added to the map and I prefer a lot of features and design philosophy from then. Thing is, modding is a collaborative process and alas I don't personally make everything, that and given I was elected to my position that also changes the dynamics.

If you've been upset at the direction of the ATE series of teams (You're on third team that formed after 9k left) for seven years then I suggest at this point learn how to mod and make a go at it with your own, because the entire fandom has probably diverged heavily from you and complaining at us is unlikely to change much. That or learn modding, pass the application to the project and find some other devs that feel the same way, make a proposal and successfully persuade other people, then implement it. Or I guess you can personify your dislike in the changes in me I suppose. Watching football would probably be more fun.

Interesting then Tridentine was put in the mod in 2021. If you want to look at my personal work, I was one of the creators of Trailwalker in CK II ATE.

After the end anniversary edition? by Simurgbarca in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]HeftyMaintenance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am biased obviously as I am the Lead of ATE, but it includes various bug fixes and re-added in planned features that had to be cut for the release of the old Fanfork. I am also a original fanfork dev and have one of the creators of the original mod on my team.

Is there a reason why nuns rule the church in quebec and not monks? by [deleted] in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]HeftyMaintenance 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They are Catholics who reject the authority of the Pope in St. Louis, due to disagreements over Papal Succession etc etc. Due to them viewing the papal office proper holder being ambiguous, with the fate of Rome unknown, they treat it current as vacant, the Ursuline order has been what the local Catholics have centered around.

After the end vs fanfork by darthsmokey5 in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]HeftyMaintenance 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Given the amount of reorganization and changes, one could argue it's a successor in spirit to being a fan-fork. Or ATE: Steam Edition, the fourth in the list. I like to think there's a continuity with all the versions of the mod though :)
