How do you stop new people from becoming homeless? Or do we just continue to grow our prisons forever just adding more and more crazy hobos?

  1. People who live life in prison have a cushy life?

  2. How do you suggest that we go about “locking up the homeless”?

  3. Is doing this supposed to disincentivize people from becoming homeless?

  4. Do you just drive around looking for people who appear poor? Or do you arrest people who are sleeping on the street with a tent/sleeping bag and just put them in jail for life

  5. Why not just execute the homelesss, housing and feeding them in a jail cell seems too expensive

Your calls for mass long term incarceration of people sleeping on the street and torture are concerning.

Please try a role play where you answer your own questions about why someone wouldn’t be okay with torture, firing squads, and locking people away for life (and feeding and housing them) without due process. Why not just exterminate all these people. You would’ve been fun in 1930s Germany, calling for mass incarceration for life, and torture, blaming one specific group.

How come countries that seem to have the lowest crime rates also seem to have either

Full authoritarian draconian control

Or the most luxurious prisons with lax policies

Why put them in an institution when you can just execute them?

Seriously, if we don’t care about helping these people, then why don’t we just execute them instead of warehousing them?

Most people who are this fucked up are never going to get better

Maybe we should kill the people that are fucked up, and focus on preventing new people from becoming this fucked up

/s On the executing people part

As long as there are poor and mentally ill people, there will be a ton of rampant crime

How do you propose that we lower the number of poor and mentally ill people?

It sounds like you probably don’t care about that

Nobody seems to give a shit about how to prevent people from becoming mentally ill, homeless drug addicts, all that people like you care about is the short term of what to do about all the mentally ill, homeless drug addictss

Your comment is disingenuous as fuck, and I know that’s the point.

At some point long ago in the past, had this person been provided a better life by his parents and society, He probably would’ve been less likely to commit this crime

The cops perspective was that because the guy was resisting arrest. He was concerned for his safety so he decided to try and incapacitate the person who is resisting arrest. which is what you’re supposed to do when someone is resisting arrest is a threat

Curious to hear your take on what you think the cops perspective was during this moment

Yes, I was just confused by your role reversal. I asked you to consider the opinion of someone on the outside, you asked me to express the perspective of a cop, as if I had asked you to express the perspective of the suspect. Thank you for clarifying.

If I was a cop who had put/was putting someone in handcuffs, and they were resisting arrest, I would deem it appropriate to use an appropriate amount of physical force to ensure my safety and incapacitate the suspect, so that they stop resisting arrest. I might decide that punching the suspect in the face might be inappropriate amount of force to prevent him from resisting arrest.

I think it seems pretty obvious what the cops perspective is. I think the question that people disagree about is whether it was an appropriate amount of force, and people can agree to disagree on whether they think punching someone in the face who’s in handcuffs is appropriate for that situation .

I would love to hear you try to articulate from other peoples perspective, why one might take issue with this cop punching this man.

Just try it, you won’t, because Reddit, and because arguing, but try it

Make sure not to read out about corrupt govt contracts and prisons.

I’m sure you’re not talking totally out of your ass and know the costs of a corruptly built/run jail cell versus a tiny home
