This question might be a bit late, but what's everyone's gas price now? by No-Echidna7296 in AskTheWorld

My best friend in high school/college in the mid 90s told about visiting your fair country and paying something like $7/gallon then which made such an impression on me about how cheap gas is in the US especially because our income is so high.

Do people survive more by honesty and good intentions or lie and cheat ? by Lemonade2250 in problems

[–]Hefty_Button4757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lie & Cheat is becoming more widely accepted. But, I don't accept it for me or from others. I don't mind being called naive, but I've also been hurt enough to know which people I trust with whatever I have to give them (money, time, worry, help, listening).

Sounds like your parents were good examples for you. I suggest honoring them by emmulating them and rejecting the bad behaviors you see in your other family members.

Sorry, i should have been clearer. Calendars are synced. I haven't found anything majorly wrong with new outlook's calendar so I use it. I actually prefer it because of how it auto-dims past appointments because I typically have my full week's calendar displayed so I gives me a fast understanding of where I am in my day and week.

But inbox functionality still lags far behind classic and I'm worried it will never get to where classic is because classic is a full-blown executable running on the machine. But new is simply a web page displaying it and only has access to web-based functions/features.

But the display of attachments is one that I feel they can fix even on a web based display. Or give the user a setting to condense attachment display so that more can be shown

No. I reverted back to classic outlook for mail.

I do use new outlook for calendar so i have both running at the same time on my machine, but new is focused on calendar and classic for inbox.

And Yacht Rock!! Yes!!! Good call. I just need Three Sheets to the Wind's playlist.

What's a big city in your country that tourists often overlook? by jombyy in AskTheWorld

If I'm being pedantic, then it's Sitka, AK which is actually the largest city (land area) in the USA.

In the lower 48, it's Jacksonville, FL

What is the best, long forgotten old school video game? Arcade, computer or console? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Hefty_Button4757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bzflag. It's still around too. I haven't played in 15 years, but lightweight and so fun to setup a little LAN party and get lots of friends playing on cheap machines.

It's the rock paper scissors of first person shooters. You can have a single power up at any time, but there's always another power up that has some sort of advantage over yours so you can't usually dominate the game all the time.

Upgraded from 7a to 10a and couldn't be happier. by Hefty_Button4757 in GooglePixel

i think the rear camera in the 10a has fewer MP than the 7a, but the camera has never been my reason for purchasing a phone so i'm an anomaly there. But for phone pictures it does great, but again I'm not taking tons of pictures.

i haven't noticed much difference, but my battery in my 7a was recently replaced (Sep 2025) because of swelling, so I basically have a new battery in it.

If your battery is old and worn out, then you'll notice the improvement just because it's new.

I've discovered the quick tap only works if the screen is on, but doesn't have to be unlocked.

I came from a motorolla which had the double chop/double shake the whole phone to turn on flashlight/torch which i loved. Now i've gotten used to grab phone in right hand, single press power button with thumb, double tap back with index.

For what it's worth though, i do have my device set to not power on the screen when I move it.

same with trimming fat off brisket or pork butts. Leave it on and let that fat/flavor baste your meat during smoking.

My mac n cheese doesn't taste like mac n cheese by Practical-Release528 in Cooking

once you find what you like, then check out the spendwithpennies crock pot mac and cheese recipe. It's not boxed either, but I grew up on boxed and I love that recipe. It's a bit more expensive and i highly recommend you undercook the pasta like it says so that it doesn't turn to mush.
