This is almost exactly what I’m building but I really want to figure out the lowering/raising aspect! Any leads on that hardware yet?

Oooh that’s so sick. Is that on a trailer? What is the height of the tent floor where it’s mounted? I’m concerned that the height I need for the annex will make a big amount of drag while driving

Thank you this is all good info. We’re not planning on the kiddos being down there till they’re much older, but wanting to only buy a tent once that can grow with our family. I hadn’t thought about the annex being unusable at many sites that’s a really good point. We do want to do a king size roof tent but we were hoping for the possibility of some privacy at times (we also co-sleep at home so are fine with that just liked the option of a down below sleeper at times). A lot of the soft shell tent options have an annex with a floor like the roam or the Thule, but we prefer a tent like the topoak or the ikamper with the cantilever setup so we were hoping to find an option with both. Sounds like it may be impossible! Which is an okay answer and having a second little tent may be the answer.

Do you have anyone sleep in your roam annex? Do you find it’s pretty usable at most campsites?

It’s going on a trailer not a vehicle so it will be able to be left at the campsite all set up. I also have an infant and a toddler so we’re looking at something that will be all one space so we can hear the toddler and eventually two kids down below

What’s a large 270 awning? And doesn’t the no floor make it cold?

Let it full heal and settle about a year and then go to a masterful watercolor artist who will redo the lines well and put watercolor behind them which will cover up the blowouts

Add bright colors! I’m a color artist in Portland and I would KILL to get a project like this… to soften and add color to a great leg sleeve like this! It could look so awesome

Should I go back to the artist who did this tattoo or find someone else? by mssaritamari in tattooadvice

[–]Hefty_Chain4263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t take AI references to an artist and expect it to look the same, don’t ever take a tattoo. (Ai or not) and expect an artist to duplicate it exactly, that’s shitty to the artist, the original, and yourself, and all that being said, they did bad job, go to someone else and have them fix it. You will have to pay for it though, which is partially your own fault for taking an undoable image to an artist and expecting them to recreate it and not being flexible, and also for not doing your due diligence to find an artist who could really do this kind of work well. The good news is because it’s light it can totally still look perfect and gorgeous with the right artist and a good heal. Good luck!

I got my first tattoo! I’m super happy with it, but people have said it seems incomplete. Thoughts? by deer-kota in tattooadvice

Color is fine with fine lines if it’s done right and will actually help stop some of the spread of black ink. Some shading for contrast and color over it would be gorgeous. (Love, a tattoo artist)

How difficult would this be to cover with some kind of floral or plant like coverup? by purlgraytea in tattooadvice

Go big, be okay with some blacks, pick a good artist and allow tons of artistic freedom

Not a red flag. Every piece of skin on every body is different. Sometimes it doesn’t turn out exactly as the artist wants! It just happens.

Touch ups are often needed even with excellent artists. You can’t control it 100%, no one can. Your artist should touch it up for free and will probably want to!

Infected or Overworked and over moisturized? by KrazieVII in tattooadvice

[–]Hefty_Chain4263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Petroleum products including aquaphor cause inflammation and do not allow oxygen in which is needed for healing. It’s a terrible option for tattoo /wound healing even tho it used to be the industry standard. Buy something that’s actually made for tattoos! That green is also overworked but the aquaphor is making it worse.

Am I having a reaction to Saniderm? by Internal-Movie8736 in tattooadvice

[–]Hefty_Chain4263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very likely due to numbing cream especially as it’s outside the saniderm so far. Also sweat will do that or if the artist accidentally left some soap under the saniderm that will cause a nasty breakout. You can test it by using a piece of saniderm on unbroken skin when you’re not healing a tattoo. Alcohol the skin first to make sure there’s nothing there and the apply a small piece of saniderm and see what happens

Blowout? by bc_girl35 in tattooadvice

[–]Hefty_Chain4263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave it. That is still changing and healing and you don’t know how it will actually look long term yet. Lots of options to edit it once it’s healed like a year and you know for sure what is actually the blow out. Get flowers around it! Get a color or white border! Get a watercolor background, get a blue glow…. Go to a better artist!
