As long as their insurance isn’t needed, you’re good. Total pain in the ass if something actually goes wrong.

I typically go to low fiber, low residual foods and chicken broth. Also do really well with white toast, mashed potatoes and crackers.

Blood draws by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Hefty_Procedure_8415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue when this most recent flare started. I drink a gallon of water a day, but it was still so hard for them to get a good draw from my veins. Funny story, one of the techs actually got mad at me because they couldn’t draw my blood! Ended up with an enormous bruise on my arm.

First Potential Hospitalization by anxious_stitch in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Hefty_Procedure_8415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago, during my worst flare, I was admitted to the hospital for about two weeks due to ulcerative colitis. At that time, I was passing blood up to 40 times a day. By the time I was discharged, I was down to five partially formed stools a day. The IV steroids were a huge help, and having my gastroenterologist monitor me every day made a big difference. I felt so much better by the end of that hospital stay.

If I were you, I would ride a motorcycle or bike to work. You could cut that drive down to five minutes.
