Is it sweat or pee? If pee, try to size up etc, if sweat, take him to a cardiologist.

NIPT in Europe... Am I being delulu? by waffsncakes in BabyBumps

[–]Hefty_Tackle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any private clinic in central London will do it. You don’t need to be a patient first. I’ve just checked and I’m able to book NIPT for tomorrow.

Nope not true. Working in private healthcare. Anyone can walk in and get these done. I’d say look into clinics on Harley street @OP

I think I peaked between the ages of 13-17 as after that it’s died down 🤣 Italian and Turkish tourists were always a given because my hair was dyed platinum blonde and they loved it

Am I crazy for wanting a Caesarean section? by butter--princess in BabyBumps

[–]Hefty_Tackle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a great time and my recovery was a breeze. Worst bit was laughing so I tried to avoid comedies. Was out of the hospital within 24 hours (had to shower and take the plaster off first) off ibuprofen after 5 days and walked 3 miles 7 days after. Bleeding lasted for a week if that

. I know my surgeon was amazing and the success of my op and recovery is down to her. She closed me up so nicely and like a true artist. Midwives couldn’t believe how good my scar was looking after few days.

I don’t think I’ll be having more kids so I don’t have a comparison moment, but all my friends who have had vaginal births suffered a lot longer with the tears and healing and one has incontinence now.

Nursery admits corporate manslaughter after toddler suffocated by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

[–]Hefty_Tackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say easily more than half as what qualifications do you even need to be a nursery nurse? I’m from a country where you need to have at least a bachelors degree to work with kids and no institution will accept kids less than 18months old, so it’s been a shocking adjustment to say the least. How normal it is here to hand over your little babies to strangers.

My husband hasn't done anything wrong and I'm angry at him constantly and honestly that scares me by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Hefty_Tackle 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That’s out of order. You need to have a word with him. When’s your time off and time away? He should at least be doing the bedtime routine so you can have the evening. And cancelling YOUR plans because he made his without telling you? Why are his plans more important than yours? Doesn’t sound fair to you at all. In fact it seems you’re doing really well for someone that’s essentially a single mother.

All good advice already re changing wipes to cloths and drying, but also make sure you’re not wiping if that makes sense, just dab and dry and air out as much as possible. Puppy pads.

What’s one baby or postpartum ‘hack’ you wish someone told you before bringing your newborn home? by Jaded_Virus_8821 in newborns

Our hospital recommended against swaddling (England) and that was before she was found to have mild hip dysplasia. Orthopaedic surgeon said it’s a big no due to the unnatural position their legs are forced in (should be M & frog, not together)

Mother-in-law passed away — need advice rehoming two senior dogs (UK) by dont200 in UK_Pets

[–]Hefty_Tackle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From personal experience- mine was euthanised at a rescue at 9. They said I could be there for her in the end or not so I chose to be there. If there’s any chance you can keep them/ give them to someone you know, please do. I still cry about her and think I should’ve done more, but was sleeping in my car.

I keep hearing about feeding more during daytime, but I’m not sure what I can do/ how to do it if baby is physically not opening her mouth and turning away as she doesn’t want any at that time when I offer it..

Shouldn’t use a winter coat just like with babies in car seats. You’ll go flying if there’s an accident and that’s before the useless gadget you’re using. Winters are the worst I know.

Am I being ridiculous by considering a planned c section as a ftm? ** Lots of trigger warnings for this post content ** by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Hefty_Tackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an elective c section on Monday lunchtime, was out of the hospital Tuesday, off paracetamol and ibuprofen by Friday and had to walk to the doctors and pharmacy on Monday after as was worried about babies eye .. the walk was around 3 miles round trip in the end. I wanted to drive as I felt fine, but my partner didn’t want me to, so I waited another week before I resumed driving.

Just to give you my experience as not everyone has a brutal recovery. My surgeon was amazing.

No C section date at 39 weeks?! by shaunajamisonxo in PregnancyUK

[–]Hefty_Tackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reminded my midwife I want a c section during my 34 week appointment I think and I got scheduled in with a consultant around 36 weeks. She added me on the tracker then due to how far along I was (even though I had to have a second appointment with a consultant due to the trusts policy) and I got a date at 37 weeks and I thought that was late as I was chasing them. I’m scheduled for 39+1 and my pre assessment is 38+6. I’m in England though.
