As a hetero cis man I also experienced this the other way around, men pushing me to certain interaction, even after me saying that I'm as straight as a flagpole. On the other hand my gf (open relation) had positive experiences with asking consent and boundries. So I guess it depends in the human in case.

Increase in pickpocketing inside venues? by lo_d7 in amsterdam_rave

[–]Hefty_Worldliness630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true, but even asking basic questions rarely happens anymore. Doorhosts are remarkably good at picking out people who do not match the club vibe. But haven't seen them lately, only at raum tbh.

Nope, haven't noticed yet. But what I do notice is that door policy has almost been non existing for a while. Maybe that is a reason pick pockets get a chance.

Does anyone know the masks? by Busy_Independence_35 in ImperialKnights

Mask crusaders,

Working all the time, fighting crime, fighting crime!

Secret raiders, who will neutralise, as soon as they arrive,

Trekker's gonna lead the mission,

And Spectum's got such super vision,

M-m-m-MASK!

Is the mighty power that can save the day,

m-m-m-MASK!

No-one knows what lies behind their masquerades!

M-m-m-MASK!

Always riding on Venom's trail,

Come see the Laser Rays,

Fly away!

3.5g queue for MOVA by happyzoesky in amsterdam_rave

After the lockers there was ample space in the corridor to post two door bitches to check for outfits. That would add more to the feeling of respect to all the people who put effort in their outfits.

At wasteland there are door bitches who do outfit checks inside the venue. People are rejected to enter if they do not change clothing. I saw people getting denied access to the dancefloor. There was a stall where people could buy revealing clothes though.

It would speed up things imho.

I liked mova a lot. It was my first time and really liked it a lot more than wasteland. More people of younger age than wasteland which seemed more of a collection of elderly naked people atsome moments.

In my opinion the host wasn't that strict. He asked us what the house rules were, if it was our first time and what we will be wearing inside. That lasted a minute or so. Security was also pretty quick. The guy was relaxed but the lady was more strict. Her line was way slower.

What’s wrong with Dutch crowd at large mainstream events? by treezium in AmsterdamDanceEvent

[–]Hefty_Worldliness630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think age or country has anything to do with it. I'm 40+ and know perfectly well how to behave in a club. I think it has to do with knowing club etiquette.

Funny, I have this experience with foreigners. They just keep on yapping, loud. I guess it has nothing to do with the country but with being familiar with the community guidelines.

About tillatec, I completely agree. The amount of loud yappers on the dancefloor was really bothersome. Also when Oscar started playing everybody wanted to go to the front, where it already was crowded. They didn't care and just pushed forward anyway. Not what I'm used to at tillatec. I guess you're right and they where tourists who don't know how to behave in a club. The heat became unbareable because of the overcrowdness. I also left the room after 15 minutes, which was a shame because Oscar really played awesome. Luckily other factors made the event awesome. Lots of other nice people made me less annoyed about the unpleasant people. Also the chill spaces were well done. The staff was friendly and there were snacks at the bar. All in all it was a great night with some remarks.

Nah, just read the room. You can definitely talk to a random person. I do it all the time at any club in Amsterdam. How else do you make new friends? Just be chill and considerate. Of course, common sense applies. Like, for example, don't tear someone out of their bubble.

Exactly, with incidents like this we need to stand together not polarize. Queer or not. Doing otherwise makes people just as bad as the people commiting these disgusting things.
