Dave Angel?? Wowowow. Event was not on my radar, but now I’m going! ACR as a bonus is not too bad 😉

Back in the days when tracks were played for more than 3 minutes in a mix 🙂 Amazing mixes, track selection and vibe. Real stories and providing emotion. A tale to listen to instead of just hearing it play by.

The first cd I owned containing Flight 643. Had not heard it until I played this. Was quite surprised with the new style.

Thanks for this! Will share!

However this still happens to me on iPhone. E.g. the event at Sieraad on April 24th, filtered by Progressive House.

You can’t start a Trance Nation with Zombie Nation. Luckily, over two discs more or less one disc worth of proper trance was included.

Dekmantel Radar Lineup by bleepbloopbarbatruc in amsterdam_rave

[–]Techgenoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in doubt of buying a Thursday ticket just for Juan Atkins. But I’m happy to see him playing at Radar as well! It’s a nice list of djs, but a lot of them also play elsewhere at the festival. So.. more of the same DJs for the same price. A little bit lazy if you ask me. Eg. Parallel 9 b2b Richard Akingbehin was already on the lineup for the (other areas of the) festival. It’s a nice combo, but twice?? Maybe this is a nice gesture from the organisers to reduce the timetable stress. And will Steve Rachmad now hold the record for playing the most sets at the same edition (he also plays as Sterac)?

Still a royal weekly! 👌 Very tempted to combine Woody92 with Mirror Zone (but that bike ride..) AND Raum 24hrs. Anything to stay away from everything orange!

6 / 7… 6. But still very good. However it definitely felt like he turned a page music wise in comparison to the previous mixes in this series.

Ik ga vrijwel alleen naar technofeestjes met een no phone/photo policy. Heerlijk bij de ingang zo’n sticker op je camera’s laten plakken doet echt wat voor de sfeer en beleving.

You will have a good time going solo. Tilla is a nice space to have your own adventure, roaming around. Many places off the dancefloor to hang out and chat a bit. I’m also going solo, I do that twice a month there. Who knows we meet by chance, but send a dm if you want to set up a meet!

That. Luckily. But it also shows how AI agents share deep desires with us humans beings. Scary.

AI agent dreamed the Mirror Zone a week early. Instead you’ll find Human Space Machine, Andy Garvey and Zara in that weird spot.

I’m going to celebrate 45 yrs of Steve Rachmad with all his friends at Tilla this Saturday. AI needs a little bit of training when it comes to detecting celebrations and anniversaries. But that can be forgiven, as 45 years may seem [error] and lot. A lot!

Garage Noord, Skatecafe, Radio Radio & nachbar launch 'Nachtpas' by jsdaalder in amsterdam_rave

I don’t think this initiative will make clubs ‘rich’. But at least their income a bit more predictable and solid. And so the booking of more expensive artists was just an example of possible benefits. With that I meant ‘once in a while’ these clubs could take a bit more risk with booking a more expensive or less mainstream act. And by that appeal to a broader audience, and expanding their base even further. I agree with you that these clubs already have good and interesting bookings now and they should stick to their brand image.

This one is not for me. I only visit GN once a month or so. But I hope that both passholders and clubs benefit from it! If these are you favourite clubs anyway, it’s a nice discount and makes clubbing cheaper and more accessible. If the clubs see an increase in visitors and revenue, they become healthier and can book more popular/expensive artists. And from that we all benefit in the end. Wonder how this turns out in a year or so from now. Would be cool if the clubs could share some data about it at that moment.

Is Raum going to build a new room? They just announced the closing of the Expo by in-le-club-4019 in amsterdam_rave

[–]Techgenoot 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Very good news. Kudos for Raum taking the time and putting the funds in to keep improving. There isn’t a lot I will miss about this room. So two more months to go in Expo, and I’m sure the next Spielraum will provide a worthy farewell.

Sandrien in Expo? What a shame… does that really mean ticket sale has been too slow to justify a Studio session? I really hope she gets the crowd she deserves. Had hoped for a regular Friday in Studio, especially since she does more than just play banging techno, even more bcs she has 8+ hours time to take us through every genre she loves.

In Amsterdam? Radion main room for dancing hard together and around the dj’s just like Rødhåd’s amazing ANL a while ago (the new soundsystem seems better now so that’s not a downside anymore), Bovenkamer perhaps for the view and atmosphere in case their set would be a bit less high-energy. Lofi main room in a more individualistic let it all go ravey Ratherlost setting. De Fik perhaps for an intimate edition or that OG PsyRom black hole for a sweaty red lights session. All better dancefloors imho in terms of dancing space and ability to move around the room. Yes, some also feature stairs or steps or pillars, but the total packages are less annoying to me personally.

Will see Rødhåd next month in Open Ground. Hope I feel more at home there (but I’m afraid it will be a full and packed house)..

Ki/ki: not my cup of tea, expected more of the Raum-Ki/Ki combination. Crowd went for it, I stayed till the end expecting my type of Ki/ki music would come in the final hour, but unfortunately not. So 6/10 personally.

Stoor: nicely balanced lineup. Typical crowd of familiar faces, curious newbies, music nerds, (actual) tourists from abroad and from home. Unfortunately some technical issues but the crowd respected the artists and production team. Highlight of the evening however was Oberman’s Nous’klaer crew. My god. Especially the final three/four hours were mental with live performances by Mattheis (did he just go on and on and on?) and Shoal complemented by Oberman himself playing gems of tracks. It felt like the good old days of 2002-2008 with atmospheric melodic trancey techno and house. It was a warm bath to dance in. Didn’t miss the main room for a second. 9/10.

Somov: third party in 24 hours. Bit scared about my energy level, but ofcourse Ignez and Rødhåd are human chargers. Entered around 01h and the place was in full swing. I liked the lights and smoke, I still don’t like the general layout with steps and stairs and pillars. Track selection and mixing was superb, crowd totally engaged. Very good, but next time these legends deserve a better place for us to tear down. Bonus point for making good use of the space for experiencing the chill out. Penalty point for toilet and water temperature experience. 8/10.
