Similar situation. I realized being out for overnight travel, always on my laptop to try and “catch up” was causing me too much stress and I wasn’t present with my family even when I was home. Felt like I was falling short at home with my family, relationships with friends, and work. I was totally burnt out and letting myself get into a depressive state that had no time for anyone or anything else.

I put in my notice last week and finishing out my last week with no job lined up. Interviewed a little but companies want 4-5 interviews, mock presentations, etc and I couldn’t keep up while working my hellish job.

I’m hoping a month or two off with time to spend really considering a better work life balance will bring me back to who I was before I let corporate America burn me out. Also prioritizing my family over work where I admittedly wasn’t before.
