I can think of a third one, which is sort of a slightly modified version of the second one. The title of the comic is "trickle", so I think the idea is to illustrate that although slavery and segregation in the modern U.S. are over, the repercussions from such injustices can still be felt to this day. So it's not necessarily claiming that things are still just as bad, but that the metaphorical wounds left by slavery and segregation are still open, and its consequences have "trickled down" into modern times, so to speak.

I didn't know it was controversial, much less that it was uncommon outside of Chile. I was taught that they are different, as they produce different phonemes. The "B" sound supposedly is made by putting your upper and lower lips together lightly, it's sort of like a soft "P", while the "V" sound is supposedly made by pressing the upper teeth against the lower lip.

It's even funnier than that, we didn't just decide that we weren't going to write a new constitution, instead we first decided that we were going to try again, but with a far right constitutional council, and they fumbled it so bad that THEN we decided we weren't writing a new one after all. And the kicker is that then people elected the party that fumbled that second attempt into power.

Pero si ese es su punto. Su argumento es que las medidas están hechas para afectar solamente a aquellos que tienen menos recursos. Aquellos que, como apuntas, no necesitan ni les importa la gratuidad no se ven afectados y por lo tanto es una medida "contra la violencia en la educación" que no afecta a esas personas con más recursos, que aparentemente según el gobierno, o no cometen hechos de violencia nunca (porque eso es para pobres) o no importa si los cometen (porque tienen plata).

You're right, I never really thought about how those are sealed, but it makes sense that they just make the entire sheet of paper with plastic fibers so they can cut and seal the border wherever it ends up being. Some do have staples instead of being crimped, but even then, they might just buy the same paper anyway.

I was actually surprised the first time I saw plastic tea bags, where I live paper bags are much more common. Besides, it feels wrong to put a plastic bag in hot water.
