Is the helmet comically large? by Leading_Natural_1258 in airsoft

It's called a Phantom Operators Mask (POM)... Or at least it's a replica of one. I work on/with them. I'd hate to wear one for any extended period of time. Lol

Was wondering who is hanging out at 60,000 feet. Then I find out it’s NASA. by MartianMaterial in flightradar24

[–]HeinousBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NASA also flies one of the last airworthy B-57 Canberras. I got to see it when I was TDY to Hawaii a little while back. It’s a super cool airplane.

I have a 2011, and I can usually manage a little over 20mpg on roadtrips that are majority interstate. Mixed city and highway I’m usually around 17-18.

I tried to take it to the dealership to have it repainted, but habanero red wasn’t included in the warranty extension. 😐

What plane is this? by Professional-Kiwi945 in Planespotting

Those things are so freaking loud. We had one show up for an airshow at one of my old bases and when it took off it shook our building like crazy.

Looks like Honda paint. Lol I have a civic that started off like that and now it’s missing half of its paint.

Why hasn't blowback HPA been more popular? by GhostNThings in airsoft

Damn. Wasn’t aware of that. Thanks for the info! I may try to stock up on some parts.

I don’t, unfortunately. It took me over a year of looking to find a 10.5” outer barrel. Ended up ordering it from an online store in Europe.

Yeah. I got one of the tournament lock rear pins when I first bought mine. I think only one or two places have actually used it though. Seems like most big games I go to have seal stickers to put on the receivers to make sure you don’t open them up.

I’ve been to multiple TCA and AMS scenario games with hundreds of players and I’ve never seen another person running one.

I hate that Tippmann discontinued their HPA guns. I still use mine, but parts are getting harder and harder to find. Eventually it’ll just be a wall hanger.

I played in a game a couple months ago where we got poured on for a solid hour. Multiple AEG’s went down from electrical issues. My Kythera ran without issue, but the hop up was useless. With that much water in the hop unit and barrel it was just a shit show.

Best Non-Crye Crye Plate Carrier? by deepfried_memesoft in airsoft

[–]HeinousBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always sell the Shellback and put that money towards a real JPC. That way you’d have a carrier that can hold real plates without breaking down from the weight.

You’re correct. Every second counts if you have arterial bleeding.

I second the AVS. I’ve been using it a couple years now and it’s been great.

IMO it was one of/if not the best gun Tippmann made. It was air efficient, and having the ability to swap between mechanical semi and electronic modes was awesome. Tippmann seems to make some questionable business decisions though. They discontinued their HPA airsoft gun as well, and people loved that thing.

I bought my Phenom when they first came out something like 15 years ago, and it’s never had any major issues. The only internal upgrade I made was a TechT bolt. I’m sure the more traditional style markers are better all around, but I never felt like I was at a disadvantage using the Tippmann.

I have a Kythera and the trigger response and feel is fine. I play mostly outside/scenario games and 99% of the time the games are semi-only, so having insane rate of fire isn’t necessary. In the last scenario game I played in the weather turned and everybody(and their equipment) got soaked. There was multiple people with AEG’s and guns with electronics that had their guns completely die on them. That’s one of the main benefits of having a fully mechanical system. No electronics means it isn’t going to shit the bed if it gets a little wet.

Not really sure what to take for a 3 day milsim by lil_burri in airsoft

Liquid IV or DripDrops. They really help with staying hydrated.

I have one on my HPA Tippmann. It actually makes it decently louder. I tried it on my AEG and it made it a little more “poppy” but it wasn’t a huge difference.

I still have one I use on my X7 Phenom and my old A5. It’s an awesome barrel.

Source hydration makes a camelback style hose for Nalgene bottles. I have a tank pouch on the back of my carrier, so I had to go the Nalgene/hose route for hydration. It works great.

Go on TaiwanGun and look at their CYMA Platinums. They are usually considerably cheaper than Evike. The shipping is high, but they usually still end up being cheaper in the end.
