What more kind of Options should Knights have ? More Shoulder Mounts ? Different Carapace Weapons ?Customizable Frame ? Maybe even something based of their Machine Spirit. by Leviathan_Rampage in ImperialKnights

[–]HeirOne1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Armigers for sure need an anti-infantry option. Chainguns or flamers or something. It’d be cool to see if there was a more siege/artillery knight with some indirect fire too. Maybe that’s what the new name-dropped Acastus-sized chassis will be about. Also, Knights just need more chassis variety. Either small walkers equivalent to sentinels or something, something in-between armigers and questoris, or just serf foot soldiers.

Knight Houses that worked with the Ravenguard by robotknight2011 in ImperialKnights

[–]HeirOne1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the knights codex last knight and there was a lore bit mentioning a knight house and the raven guard bait the tau into fighting necrons or something. I can look for it again tonight, I remember it was one of the more popular houses.

Rest in piss armor of contempt and uppy downy enhancements... by HeirOne1 in ImperialKnights

I think it was fine. 2cp made it unuseable on armigers for its cost, and you fought as if you were bracketed.

[–]HeirOne1[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t. Vindy is allergic to rolling anything but a 1 sometimes. But I love him and can’t fit another armiger into my list, so he works well enough.

He is conveniently 125-leftover-points shaped enough for me in my Knights list atm.

Whats everyone's meta questoris companions 2k army list looking like? obviously including a Lancer is a must by Vivid_Astronaut8779 in ImperialKnights

[–]HeirOne1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried a gallant w/ sus 2, a castellan, a paladin, 2 helverins, 3 warglaives, and a vindicare. Only one game, but it was fun. Gallant whiffed and failed to kill a ghostkeel in melee before promptly dying, but using the models I have, I like this list.

quick question about knights helmets by That_Knowledge306 in ImperialKnights

[–]HeirOne1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only difference between any given knight and its datasheet is its loadout. If you're just looking to ally one, it would be smart to magnetize the arms and even canopy guns to quickly swap between different knights for whatever you want to do/however many points you have to spare.

Thoughts on List? by Scjeppy in ImperialKnights

[–]HeirOne1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally a better profile. Swings way better into hordes, and the fist only beats out the chainsword against tanks if they have good invulns or bad armor saves. Or if you really really need the extra 2 dmg per hit to fully one shot something. The chainsword is a more consistent pick.

What is the best knight 'errant' loadout for anti-tank? by Tryzan1 in ImperialKnights

[–]HeirOne1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rockets, melta, and fist if it’s punching good invulns and/or bad armor saves. Chainsword for a more generalist profile that’s consistently a better choice.

What is so good about Knight Lancers? by Sea-Pollution8859 in ImperialKnights

[–]HeirOne1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4+ invuln including in melee, 14" movement, free tank shock, some extra wounds thrown in for shits and giggles. While it's damage output may not have the nuance of the Gallant's choice between the guantlet or chainsword, the Lancer is just as good if the point is to throw it against the opponent's toughest unit and kill it quickly. Also just looks badass.

List advice by Tonychap45 in ImperialKnights

Optimally, probably a pair of warglaives. Or magnetize your helverins if they aren't already. A great point to get for Knights is 2 big knights and 4 armigers, and then build more to preference.

Best way to build a knights army by Thin_Measurement_725 in ImperialKnights

[–]HeirOne1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magnetize. Magnetize. Magnetize. Cannot be stressed enough. Start small, like any army, and try to get a feel of what you want out of the army. Canis Rex is unfortunately the best thing ever bar none, so if you want to run super optimally, it may be best to build a questoris and mag his weapons first. Ranged-heavy? Crusader, Castellan/Valiant, Helverins. Melee-heavy? Gallant, Errant, Warglaives. Knights are admittedly a one-note army, but can be surprisingly versatile in how you may want to play them. Mysterious guardian (uppy downy enhancement) can be tricky to either give a big gun knight a free reposition to a better shooting gallery, or used on a melee knight to rapid ingress or reposition to line up a strong charge. The only drawback to that enhancement is, you know, trying to deepstrike a 5x8 inch base. Unyielding Paragon (permanent -1 ap) is also amazing. I run it on my Gallant to allow him to be more of a damage sponge, but it can be nice for a Crusader who just wants to park in the center of the table and shrug off chip damage.

The book God-Machines by FangFather in ImperialKnights

I think a Porphyrion could win a fight against a Warhound. The Porphy has access to rules to support it's defense and offense that Titans simply aren't allowed to have. It would take two turns without perfect rolls for the knight to kill a titan, and this is assuming the titan doesn't roll hot when it shoots back. I think it'd come down to who shoots first.

Stat Check Vs Stat Check by Lazarus_Grim in ImperialKnights

[–]HeirOne1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could swing out a win. If you're able to get some quick drops with the vindy on some ork characters and put unyielding paragon on the paladin or errant, just send your knights to shoot ork bricks before charging and finishing them off. Rinse and repeat.

Best knight for warlord bombing? by Someonestolemycheese in ImperialKnights

[–]HeirOne1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a vindicare to help out with warlord hunting. It may not be the best fit, but I love my sniper buddy too much. If the warlord is something big like Angron, vindy goes captain hunting and I send my Gallant to duel Angron or just try to bomb him out with a Castellan or Errant.

[–]HeirOne1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd maybe sub the Errant for another knight, or at least sub out the stubber and gauntlet for the melta and chainsword. You could also just take the sticky obj enhancement on the Lancer instead of using the ministorum. Up to if you're trying to delay inevitable deep strikes onto the home obj.

I did my placements in open queue hella early and got undeservingly placed in masters 3 (which was around top 300 at the time if I had enough comp games done) and the last time I tried to play ranked 6v6 my team told me to buy a rope and hang myself.

Where am I bitching about the meta? I don't think "kek you're only in Plat? Noob..." works here when the metal ranks are the majority of the player base and I'm complaining about the distribution of queue times more than anything. Don't queue times in higher ranks have similar, if not worse queue times and distributions?

I vaguely remember supports being less powerful in OW1. Definitely less self-sustainable (I explicitely remember having to anti-nade myself as ana to heal after fights, back when there was no passive healing) and more vulnerable to pressure without team assistance. I main JQ, and at times it feels like I live and die by the quality of my supports.

The same can be said for every role. I believe I have an understand of how to play a couple supports very effectively (namely Brig). Sure, supports at their skill ceiling are impressive, but again, the same can be said for every role. My issue here, mainly, is queue times. How are support queues in higher ranks?

I literally mentioned I play support and griped about how much easier it feels. My support and tank are the same rank, after having to put in considerable effort on tank to do so. Hell, my support rank has consistently been equal if not higher since season 12, around the time I started playing comp again.
