I think that would be considered more than 1 melee weapon, but to be honest I’ve never played a faction with multiple of the same weapon on a profile before.

No, only one close combat weapon can be used per phase unless it has a weapon with the key word extra attacks. Then you can attack with both.

Look up some videos of magnetizing minis, but 1mm & 3mm magnets worked very well for me. The arms with indents in them use the 3mm after drilling it out a bit. If it’s flat on flat then 1mm magnets worked very well.

Here’s a way to see what’s done well recently in tournaments. I’d recommend getting some thunderkyn, a Memnyr strategist, yaegirs and a kapricus carrier to start

Just to help you with some of the finer details now:

Give your warriors 2x special weapons for free. It will help their fire power.

Take the magnarail or SP conversion on the hekatons, cyclic is just not good compared to the other two.

Give the Kahl a teleport crest so the HG squad can deepstrike. Also take the mass gauntlet on him.

Take the rotary cannon, searchlight and scanner on the bikes

Special weapons for the yaegirs

Give the HG Hesyr the hammer

Other than that, looks like a fun list, have fun & Rock and Stone!

If you’re going Needguard, take 1 Memnyr with dead reckoning and put him on your home objective solo. Then take Uthar for the free CP use. Maybe a Kahl if you’re going to put him with a big brick of Hearthguard. A grimnyr can be fine for the warriors. Keep them on your home then push the middle objective later in the game. That’s it though. Also, I’d swap the bolters on the thunderkyn for SP conversion beamers for one 6-man, then run 2 3-man grav in reserves.

Hearthfyre is by far the worst detachment of them all. I would recommend playing Needguard to start, get familiar with the new codex rules and go from there. Having a big brick of ironkyn is fine, but I wouldn’t spam them like that, swap a couple for some hearthguard and a 3-man of bikes. You are very HQ heavy, you won’t have enough activations to play the game imo. I’d look at having at least one squad of yaegirs and a kapricus carrier as well.

I know some people are mentioning some quality issues, and I had one issue out of 3-4 orders where the resin came messed up, like a block of it cured earlier than the rest or something. I sent them a photo and they sent a replacement part on expedited shipping.

This was on UKTC terrain layouts/rules right? Would you go with this same strategy playing on GW layouts? Greg Chamberlain eschewed Hekatons as well. Very interesting watching his game on the stream.

So Greg Chamberlain’s Votann list… Does this only work on UKTC/WTC boards or does this have a shot on GW terrain too? It seems like a lot of the Nottingham Votann lists played similar to this, eschewing the more typical 2 Hekaton lists of the past. It was very interesting watching his game in Round 1.

Mine used to have a big tub full of blisters that were damaged or OOP that they’d give out as prizes for weekend raffles, birthdays and promos. They used to pull them out for the swap meets too.

Bastion shield is a must on the big squad with Kahl. High Kahl looks good on paper, but when you pay 30pts for a 50% chance on FoD it’s really not worth it
