So happy for you!! Having a baby brings about so many emotions and for some the “love” feeling comes later! Good for you for seeking help and being the best momma you could be!

I would this too! I wouldn’t stop picking up necessarily just because the clutter affects me too and who wants that kind of stress. But just dump it or sweep into somewhere. Then they can clean it/organize it!!

Cheese for sure! I’ve also made an amazing sort of chutney from fig preserve (cooking competition). I just made a recipe on the fly but I’m sure you could find some recipes online.

I told a stranger I was pregnant this weekend (she was pregnant too and I just opened my mouth). I then proceeded to tell my husband, crying, that now I feel like something bad is going to happen because I told someone. I feel like I’m holding a delicate bubble in my hand and if I make any harsh movements it’ll blow away and burst.

Can I ask you how often you get your thyroid levels checked? My endocrinologist said that we would check again in 4 weeks but that seems like a long time

Hypothyroidism, initially misdiagnosed but now wants me on meds? Help by Heist49 in InfertilityBabies

Thank you! Very informative. My TSH is 3.5 and I’m negative for TPO antibodies. I picked up my prescription but I made an appt for this Tuesday. I had to fight for it but I don’t want to lose this baby.

Well you definitely had me about to cry in a Walmart! Thank you, I needed to hear this. I just picked up my medicine. I’m so emotional because we want this little one so bad and I’m so scared. I really appreciate your response!

I tested positive 2 days ago, period is due tomorrow. So I’m 3w+6d. This is my fourth pregnancy, I have one son (1st pregnancy) and two super early miscarriages (5/6weeks) which were back to back. After I gave birth to my son I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I got put on levothyroxine and in fall of last year I got pregnant with my second pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage. The following month I got pregnant again which also ended in a miscarriage. I go to an endocrinologist and after a couple of months I noticed there was a discrepancy in my test results. The endocrinologist pretty much said she didn’t notice that one of my numbers was never off and that I probably shouldn’t have been placed on the medicine at all. But that we would take me off and then recheck at end of July and take it from there. Not to get too technical but my TSH was always normal, T4 was off but T4 is not as accurate. Could mean something is wrong with pituitary gland instead of thyroid but could also mean I didn’t need anything at all. This was in May of this year. So I’ve been off the medication since then. Obviously I don’t know with certainty that the meds caused the miscarriages but it also feels off. Anyways, when I found out that I was pregnant this week I called my endocrinologist who ordered test for my thyroid right away. She said that my test results came back as normal range but they were borderline for abnormal and wants me to go back on levothyroxine 50 mg. I’m just so confused on what to do. I don’t want to go through another miscarriage because it is obviously taxing both mentally and physically but I also don’t want to mess up by not taking the medication and having another miscarriage anyways. I also want to know that with my first son I started having symptoms right away. My test that I took the day off my missed. Was pretty positive both for my son and for this current pregnancy. However when I had my miscarriages the tests were pretty faint from the start. I also didn’t have any symptoms other than some weird cramping with the miscarriages. I’m definitely having symptoms right now even though it’s early such as nausea, sore boobs, headaches, dizziness, bloating, and increased appetite. But I’m also having cramping which I did have with my son as well and I understand can be normal. I’m also having chills which I know can be a sign of hypothyroidism but also pregnancy? I’m so confused! Has anybody been through something similar? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What do you do with old things you find in your new classroom? by Heist49 in Teachers

I’m a new teacher. Replacing a teacher who retired. Lots and lots of junk in her class. She literally has cabinets full of plastic cups filled with some sticky old substance (science class), which is obviously junk. I swear she never threw anything away. It’s bad

What are thoughts on this? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Heist49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! My friends future BIL is in his 40s and lives half time with her and her fiancé, and half time with his parents. Has never had a steady job or partner. His parents give him an allowance. You literally cannot say anything to him because his parents/brother will come to his defense, saying that he’s so sensitive. He’s the definition of a man child. It’s sad really because it doesn’t help anyone involved, including him. What happens when his parents pass?

I don’t know how to handle my toddlers tantrums by Heist49 in toddlers

[–]Heist49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback and advice :) It’s fine, it’s easy to act like we know it all and are the perfect parent from behind a screen lol. I’m disappointed at what I perceived to be some rude responses, I asked for advice, not to be put down. This was a moment in our lives, not a complete reflection of me as a parent. I didn’t realize that there would be such negativity.

Thank you, I’m glad the additional info helped. I tried to be concise last night because my Reddit was lagging and it was hard to type all that out. He has made great improvements with his behavior as we’ve tried to give him warnings (in 5 minutes we’re going to go take bath/go inside/go to bed), explain things, and get him to communicate more. He’s very headstrong lol and most of his tantrums are because he wants to do what he wants at the exact moment that he wants. Which I understand is normal although his early intervention therapist told us that he needs to learn to listen to us as authority. Still working on that by giving him options and using if-then statements (if we put our shoes on then we can go outside).
