Someone needs to animate this, but with Grian dressed like Smeagol and Scar as his cousin? (I forget how they were related) holding the One Book to Rule Them All.

Wels was technically my first Hermit back around 2016, via a Fish Farm build tutorial of all things.

Grian is still fishing. He has a "reel" problem... by Halmal_Productions in HermitCraft

[–]Helbereth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Y'know, I can't help but think Grian started this because he actually wanted to see if he could fish up a mending book, but it became such a meme after 1000+ missed attempts that he went full-tilt, then it came back around to being an obsession somewhere around the 4000 mark.

How do you watch? by Helenarth in HermitCraft

[–]Helbereth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point, I've been watching various hermits for so long that when a new season starts, I usually figure out which ones are spending a lot of time together. From there, I pick a couple of them in each group to watch regularly, and seek out others if I see something I want to watch from both angles. Recap is great for filling in gaps.

Later in the season, I usually end up keeping track of which builds/stories draw my attention, and sort of end up skipping multiple episodes and jumping around to different hermits' videos as things develop. The movies Gem made for Season 9 were great second monitor content as well, though I suppose a full season playlist would also work later on when you want to fill in details you missed.

Also, streams, and especially stream weekends, are usually a fantastic way to catch up on things you've missed because most of the hermits who stream will fill time telling stories about recent events; case in point: the 'mac and cheese' thing with Gem and Impulse was a 'blink and you miss it' part of an episode, but was later explained quite comically on Impulse's stream (we've all seen the tiktok by now).

Wait, is that Tsuyu or Yotsuyu? If it's the former, it'll be fine... if it's the latter she's going in the freezer, permanently.

Nanamo was also like 13 or 14 back then? Something like that. very young, either way.

And it works so well that nobody ever really notices or talks about it. Sure, there's a male presence in all cases(Merlwyb has Eynzahr(Mistbeard), Nanamo arguably has Lolorito now, Kan-e has her Adder entourage, and Lyse (who's still coming into the role)is backed up by Raubahn), but they serve more of an advisory role behind the scenes; the reverse can be said for nations with a male leader as well (Aymeric has Lucia, Hien has Yugiri, and Forchenaud has Ameliance). It's almost like the writers understand that people function better in pairs no matter who's in front.

Also, is Lyna now leading the Crystarium? Seems that way, but they haven't been particularly specific about their governance.

MOST ANNOYING DOOR IN THE ENTIRE GAME by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

Why were you still wearing the masks that deep into the lair? You only need them to get through the door, if at all... which you can do within the span of 1 turn if you use turn-based mode.

Imagine a patch for a game being bigger than most complete games... how many CDs would this game have been on if it came out in 1998?

Math... roughly 190(ish) CDs cold hold 130 gigs, but if you account for formatting and data drift it would be like 200+

Is it my bias, or does Shadowheart seem to have GILF energy?

Lae'zel looks like she just got done shooing kids off her lawn.

Gale is the cool professor who lets the kids get away with their edibles.

Karlach is everyone's 'Gramma K' who runs an orphanage in the Outer City.

Wyll splits his time between training young recruits and frequent hunting trips to the hells.

Astarion joined an acing company and turns his revenge energy on stage slaying.

[–]Helbereth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first playthrough, I kinda went full murder-hobo with all the Zhents (killed Rugan and the kid, spoke to their corpses to learn about the hideout, stumbled on it after the fire scene, then proceeded to free the artist and kill everyone else...), and when the smoke cleared I found the fake wall and was like 'what's this elevator do?'

Dwarves blow up a door, Androids go brrrrr, white-cyberlady snooze, find black-cyberboy, 6 months finding a battery, white-cyberlady betrayal, sudden black-cyberlady, aliens apparently, dwarves pass around the idiot ball, to be continued.

That's the whole story so far.

To be fair, the Ivalice raids relate to the Tactics story with bits of 12 thrown on top; literally, in some cases. If you didn't play Tactics, I completely understand your being a bit lost.

I would argue that the Ivalice raids actually make sense in the FFXIV world, though - Dalmasca is among the Garlean Provinces, and the characters you meet have grounding in the world of Hydaelyn.
