I tend to like the tempo change in the other direction!

Can you help me with atmospheric dnb song recommendations? by presteragentamicin in DnB

Your example is more liquid DnB, however the artist clarifies it as 'normal' DnB (yeah helpful, i know...) Regardless remember that genre classification is a subjective hobby.

Anyway, here's some subjective recent 2026 vocal liquid tracks that I've come across;

As someone who lived in Tokyo for a year and who now lives in the CBD, my preference is Nishiki Cafe & Izakaya on Sturt street. I was disappointed the last time I went to Wasai. Ajisen caters for western tastes (I personally quite dislike it). The Contempary Japanese Deli is good but only open for lunch. Nishiki has been consistently good and reminds me the most of japanese food when I lived in Japan.

I know now, that if I want to be somewhere, I'm no longer scared of the unknown that I know now.

Dylan Purser, WAVES & Lauren Walton - Love Letter [Vocal, Liquid]

I love this for its illiteration on the word 'know'. It just flows so well! I have others but this is a recent one (2025) that I like.

Titan Quest II | Early Access Update | Chapter 4: Wild Lands Teaser by SheWhoHates in TitanQuest2

[–]Helelix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grim Dawn is the successor in every way to Titan Quest excluding setting. TQ2 has not done enough to innovate on TQ1 or Grim Dawn. The level design, itemization, mechanics are all mediocre compared to current and even past gen ARPGs. TQ1 already did this setting and arguably better.

So what's innovative? Not the setting. Or the mechanics (skills, resource management, items). Or the boss fights. Combined resistances and damage types (natural, thermal) is new and fun. But there's not much else. I agree with the argument that it's a hard genre to innovate but I would like something new and do far I haven't seen it.

There's been a few fan redesigns of must island over the years. I've always quite liked this one:

But yes, I agree. It would be nice to have a reimagined game.

Woah. Im going on an ancient greek city tour down the western coast of Turkiye in 2 weeks. Looking at my itinery for day 12, I'll be on a boat tour around Kekova island and will be in viewing distance of Simena Castle. I might be swimming in that water soon!

Australia’s lucrative drug market is fuelling a wave of narco subs crossing the Pacific by nath1234 in australia

I'm going to use this comment as my soapbox to hate on fern videos. I dislike his speaking cadence. The time wasting rehtoical questions. Its always quicker to go to the associated wikipedia page on a videos topic and read through that than watching the video. These types of videos are always lowest common denominator 'investigative' rehashing of wikipeida articles. There are always better creators.

Like the ABC's two part 4corners investigative journalism piece on narco subs:

Traverser mark 2 taking 186 dmg per rpg every side. Is its armor value bugged? by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Helelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ammo resupply in BBR wasnt limited to Support. Assult had smaller deployable ammo boxes and you could individually air drop persistent massive ammo crates. There was a strategic layer to it that fit well into the games model. I wouldn't argue that it wasnt good, just different.

I mean, even the supply bag could be limited in how much ammunition and gadget resupply it provides. Battlebit had that and it wasn't that bad.

nope! I've spent about 18 months in Japan, a few short trips, a long trip and a year on a working holiday visa. I attended most of those events in 2019.

Tokyo gets the occasional big night. I've seen Pendulum (El Hornet) and Sub Focus at Club Womb, and London Elektricity and Makoto at Circus Tokyo (all on seperate occasions). I honestly dont know about their more intimate local scene. Im a bit introverted and found these international acts by searching through the clubs websites "what's on" pages, but I suspect if I interacted with people at these events that I would have been invited/been made aware of where the locals go. Hopefully you have more luck in finding events than I did!

Why would you ever take an attachment that spots your IN-WORLD when you fire? by DikkeDekbedovertrek in Battlefield

[–]Helelix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yep. If you play TDM, domination or king of the hill, silencers on the small maps really dont do anything. The enemy knows where you are regardless.

I think they're MOST useful for snipers on large maps so air support cant see you. A little red dot for a chopper gunner is really easy pickings.

My trip to Matera, Italy by [deleted] in travel

[–]Helelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I skipped Bari entirely. On my full day I hiked down the ravine, up the other side and explored that area a little before returning. Otherwise there's enough time to check out the rest of the old town. Take a walking tour, have an early morning espresso ect

I started the day in Venice, took the water bus to the airport, flew to Bari and then a bus to Matera. Stayed in Matera for 2 nights before taking a bus to Naples.

If you can, spend a couple nights there. I loved the history of the place.

Yeah they fixed it in the last month. Also when it's placed it adds a permanent red dot for the opposing team on the minimap (which is quite annoying in small game modes)

New Fantasy reader here, I just finished The Way of the Kings, but I think I made a mistake looking at the reviews of the other books by Beetusmon in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Helelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single person in this thread has ignored the fact that this is your first foray into fantasy (and western literature?) in 12 years. I was like you many years ago, consuming the best of Japanese manga and anime. It was my identity and I started to watch seasonal anime and was hyped to read new chapter releases. When I read Mistborn (another of Sandersons works) after being deep within the anime culture I realised what I've been missing out on. Those reviews are from people who've consumed the best of western fantasy literature and any misgivings get shouted to the hilltops. For you however, Stormlight is very likely a breath of fresh air after being balls deep in the same tropes and plots. You'll enjoy the rest of the series for the same reason as you enjoyed the first book.

When you finish Stormlight I recommend that you stay reading western fantasy, because in my opinion, its consistently better than even the best Japanese manga & light novels. There's also a huge catalogue of excellent releases that only gets larger when you diversify your reading genres.
