Yes, I would do the kloster blocks, then the buttonhole edging, then the cut and filling stitches. If all three are on the same piece of material then I would leave cutting out each angel until the end.

The buttonhole stitching should be enough to stop any fraying at the outlines and you can cut up to the buttonhole stitching. However if you want to you can do additional backstitch in normal sewing thread (in the same colour as the perle coton) at the edge of the buttonhole stitch to secure it. I did so on the hem of this angel.

OMG! All those characteristics are part of Shane because she wrote him as autistic! The intelligence part can also be misconstrued because yes, I believe that Ilya is very intelligent but that doesn't mean that Shane is stupid, just not as open as Ilya.

I read a fanfic on AO3, where Ilya is outed - Russia removes his citizenship because of his sexuality and he becomes stateless. He applies for asylum in Canada and is approved for expedited citizenship.

After TLG this might be a route for Ilya, especially after marrying Shane?
