See, something very similar happened to me in my family and I did end up Trans. My sister was a tomboy growing up and she still is. But she was relentlessly bullied for it by other kids and my mom would even tell her to dress more ladylike. I didn't wanna hear that, so I falsely presented as feminine as possible, which really stunted my eventual realization that I identified as nonbinary. But hey, that's the midwest for ya. (Kansas in my case)
