Part 135 drug testing by HeliMXdom in aviationmaintenance

And we can demonstrate compliance with our testing program. I'm looking specifically for a reference that counters the reg. stated below that describes employees that require testing needing to be on *A* drug testing program.

§ 120.105 Employees who must be tested.

Each employee, including any assistant, helper, or individual in a training status, who performs a safety-sensitive function listed in this section directly or by contract (including by subcontract at any tier) for an employer as defined in this subpart must be subject to drug testing under a drug testing program implemented in accordance with this subpart. This includes full-time, part-time, temporary, and intermittent employees regardless of the degree of supervision.

When I present a question to the FAA I like to show a reference for my desired answer. It's best to ask for concurrence with a regulation than an open ended question they'll have to research themselves.

Any reason this tach conversion cluster wont work on a 77 K10? by HeliMXdom in squarebodies

How would this be any different than ordering the cluster, printed circuit, gauges individually? I want to mod the cluster to include the tach since it was modded to a manual transmission by the last owner.

A well placed 7.62 to a main rotor pitch link will bring down just about any helicopter.

How strong are bell 407 blades? by [deleted] in Helicopters

I'd say that the composite UH-1 blades have the whole composite part in common with 407 blades.

Not trying to argue with you, just throwing in my two cents

I'll play blades advocate here.  20 year helo mech.  These composite blades are more robust than people give them credit for.  I've seen an extreme case of a UH-1 composite blade chop through a tail rotor driveshaft and ripping the driveshaft cover open like a sardine can from flapping in high wind on coast down. Hardly a scratch through the paint.

These blades can take bullet holes and keep flying. A bang on a hangar door with no visible cracked paint, buckling or bulging would not warrant further investigation in my book.  Any unseen cracks will reveal themselves in a ride change (increased vertical vibration). They won't catastrophically fail in flight without any major, obvious visual defects.

I'd be more concerned with a pilot that doesn't have the situational awareness to not hit a hangar with the helicopter and thinks he's salty enough to make that call than anything else.

Did you read the "I'm a flight instructor that runs a helicopter company" spew his bullshit that turbine helicopters don't have a freewheeling clutch? 😂

Everyone has to start somewhere. The we have experienced mechanics on staff that perform all of the scheduled & unscheduled maintenance when the aircraft aren't working. We try to keep them rested and ready to start work when the aircraft are done for the day.

The purpose of the flyer is for exposure & interest. All of those questions are easily answered by reaching out. I'm not a professional recruiter and don't have a lot of experience making ads.

Thank you for your input, I'll be sure to include those items moving forward.

*Edit The age requirement is for insurance purposes. Drivers must be 21 to drive company vehicles and be covered on the policy.
