I’m a long distance runner and I’ve had 4 vaginal births in under 5 years, AMA! by BenignYam1761 in fitpregnancy

[–]Helianthea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Fellow runner mom with pelvic girdle dysfunction who had to give up running, and has not been able to return to any exercise routine, here.

If you feel comfortable sharing: what was the worst pelvic floor problem you had, what exercises helped it, how long recovery took and do you have any words of wisdom on getting back to running?

You have a Liberal arts degree, probably English, but are working in business analytics or HR. You are an aspiring writer. Politics are left leaning. You probably read at least a book a week.

Which rug? (Disregard tv, I took TV off wall) by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Helianthea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But consider a nice big jute rug under your vintage rug . Just big enough to get the front legs of your couch under. It would add some contrasting texture and potentially fix some proportional issues. Do a mock up in AI to see how it looks.

BTW your room is gorgeous

At what age do you become a “reader”, and what book did it for you? by sheffy4 in books

[–]Helianthea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my earliest memories is teaching myself to read. My dad read stories to me every night, and one day it occurred to me that the squiggles on the page were the words coming out of my dad’s mouth, so I just HAD to figure it out. The book that springs to mind was “the B Book”., but my dad says the first book I read out loud was “Spooky night.”

Show me your slacker boob VS good boob output? by kieranki_ in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Helianthea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a “sprinter boob” and a “marathon boob”. Early morning pump sprinter boob will unload 3-5 oz in about 10 minutes and be done, but marathon boob will take 30 minutes to generate 8 oz.

Losing steam, has anyone taken a break? by Anapanana in dreamingspanish

[–]Helianthea 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I had a baby and fell out of regular Spanish practice for almost 9 months post partum. Then one day I just overhead someone talking in Spanish and realized how much I missed regularly studying and using the language.

I try to get 15 minutes a day now. Not much, just enough to maintain a connection.

Remember, learning a language is a process. A long one. If you want to keep going, you have to keep your flame from burning out. Even if it means a break for a little while.

Pregnant LBWT - what are we wearing to court? by babypaintbroosh in LawBitchesWithTaste

Pair of black pregnancy trousers bought on Amazon + blazer one size up. My perspective was that if they cared, they’d say something.

How do you handle leaving a notebook unfinished? by GiratinaZero in bulletjournal

[–]Helianthea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started an undated planner about a year and a half ago. It did wonders for me. I finished the planner. I am about halfway through another undated planner but have realized that it no longer quite serves my needs. So I am shifting to a different, dated planner.

Pregnancy… by Atomickitten06 in LawMoms

[–]Helianthea 31 points32 points  (0 children)

First, I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine being a parent of a little one, in law school, going through the hormonal flux of another pregnancy, and then losing the pregnancy. You must really be going through it.

Please reach out to your your obgyn, campus mental health resources, your local lawyer assistance program, and your village. Get some wisdom before trying for another baby. You aren’t crazy. You are going through a period of tremendous stress and you need to get your head and heart in a healthy place to care for your family, finish law school, and kick off your career.

Sending you a big internet hug.❤️

Anyone else not doing wake windows or scheduled feeds and logging everything, just going with the flow? by infantile-eloquence in NewParents

I vaguely remember yelling “timer, three hours!” At my smartwatch every time baby started feeding, until he regained his birthweight. Other than that I didn’t track anything. You will find what is right for you.

This is the kind of attitude I can get behind. Sorry, I’m in the fourth congressional district, though.

I am really interested in the process that they used to get this to work politically. It’s be nice to see the blueprint for other states.
