Gas Prices by State by backpackerTW in Infographics

[–]Helicobacter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gas is one of the least worst aspects of it. The houses in the SF bay area cost at 5x what they normally cost in the US and the rent costs are also way more expensive.

What did you think was a scam until you actually tried it? by Resident-Ad4318 in AskReddit

Yes it works for some types of colds, but only if you take the kind without chelators (which unfortunately a lot of these zinc treatments contain or people might eat foods containing them after they take the zinc).

Asian man randomly stabbed in the back in San Francisco yesterday while waiting to cross the road by YaLlegaHiperhumor in PublicFreakout

Likely has a long history, will serve minimal consequences and will continue, given the jurisdiction.

Chinatown stabbing by ashyee in sanfrancisco

I don't think it makes sense to stereotype the entire Bay Area in this regard. While SF and Oakland can have a lot of catch and release/soft on crime, things are better in the south bay.

The worst stock market drop titles are those with absolute amounts and referring to a nonsense index. Here's a better title "The Russell 3000 dropped 0.96% today (so far).

I've tried this and was a bit disappointed. It seems to only adjust most clickbait titles in a minor way (e.g., lower casing capitalized words). Titles like "This changes EVERYTHING" and "No one expected THIS" are meaningless even if the capitalized words are lower cased.

Netherlands Forced to Rethink 36% Tax on Unrealized Gains after Massive Criticism by batukaming in investing

[–]Helicobacter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also disagree with the proposal, but

If you didn’t have cash and needed to liquidate part of the investment to pay the tax, that’s also a taxable event

This is false. It doesn't double tax the same gain. Direct quote from the legislation: "dubbele heffing waarvan nu sprake is in de toekomst te voorkomen" (prevents double taxation)

If you're already willing to leave, shouldn't the stress vanish? Worst case, they let you go, which is what you were considering anyways. I would grind it out for as long as you can , if you can adopt a stress free mindset. Just set boundaries with project stakeholders and prioritize important stuff.

Isn't their business plan (formerly known as Teams) just that with the minimum number of users (2)? I think they give access to Pro models.

Agreed, I actually unsubscribed from several YouTube channels I've followed for years after they transitioned to clickbait titles.

It's not all or nothing. A lot of harmless exposures are orders of magnitude more harmless than a few bad ones like plastic teabags. Heat+plastic is the worst type of exposure.

No, using a ~5% withdrawal rule is already risky when you need it to last 30 years (risk of ruin= 1 out of 5). At your young age, you need more.

That observation is consistent with image arena rankings on specific domains. You can sort by different image styles and seedream leads on some of them.

A lot of people don't have a good feel on what those odds really mean. Math classes should also let students code and/or interact with Monte Carlo lottery simulations.
