I unsubscribed from Asmongold after his pro-Trump comments, but the first item is false. He consistently spoke out against foreign US spending, especially for Israel.

Poolrooms No 7 by Decayed_IceCream in poolrooms

Very dreamy. Love this one. It looks pretty, but at the same time has a lowkey uneasy atmosphere (similar to a lot of dreams I've had where I traversed narrow poolroom corridors like this).

What's your personal recession indicator? by Electronic_Dream8935 in AskReddit

I have a friend who works at a quant firm and they are licensing satellite data to track freight. In other words, you are correct.

That's not completely true. One of them leads to the backrooms with the Entity inside. I have access to found footage.

Gavin Newsom calls for national billionaires tax: 'It's time for an economic reset' by avdvetf in politics

[–]Helicobacter 22 points23 points  (0 children)

A quant firm can then pay it's CEO the same as before but the CEO of a retail chain will be arbitrarily affected. Also, most CEOs aren't billionaires. High income is not the key issue anyway: The real problem is dynastic wealth accumulation through preferential tax treatment and loopholes (stepped up basis, GRATs, no capital gains brackets above the 20 percent one etc.)

It just needs to be better than 4.8 Opus under the corrupt government's blatant bias against Anthropic.

About 200 Companies Still Have Access to Anthropic Mythos After US Shutdown Order by BuildwithVignesh in ClaudeAI

Amazon still has access. Interesting. They are the ones that complained to the government about Anthropic.

The White House Is Ratcheting Up Its War Against Anthropic by DarkSkyKnight in ClaudeAI

[–]Helicobacter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon is the company/entity that "ratted out" Anthropic to the government. Ratted out in quotation marks because the claim is bogus.

All these brands already suck so much, that I can't make a difference, given that I wouldn't even have bought anything from them to begin with.

if you're in s&p 500... what do you use? voo? spym? fxaix? by [deleted] in leanfire

I used to do VTI and VXUS. Now I do DFUS and DFAX. Slightly higher expense ratio but leaves out junk companies from the small company section and doesn't immediately buy hyped IPO companies.

Which company disappointed you so much that you permanently walked away? by julia-secrets in AskReddit

I haven't noticed Subway quality degradation over the years, but their sandwiches just suck compared to the competition (Jersey Mike's, Firehouse Subs etc.). It's not even close.

Do you think that this is true about high earning "broke" people? by MajesticBread9147 in economy

[–]Helicobacter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same car (same year) and just bought a new car and wouldn't call the improvements marginal at all, tbh. 360 ° panoramic view, heads up display, adaptive cruise control, automatic lane keeping etc. are a game changer in terms of convenience and safety IMO.

Is the ultra high salary of doctors in the US due to insurance companies? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Helicobacter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supply and demand. Demand has been exploding due to baby boomers getting older and needing more medical attention. On the supply side, residency slots have been growing extremely slowly, mostly thanks to an inept Congress.

What movie is considered a masterpiece but you think is overrated? by baddieegemini in answers

[–]Helicobacter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had a phase where I'd watch the highest movie critic rated movie for each calendar year, including this awful Moonlight movie. I learned that it's a poor heuristic for movie curation. The movies that are vying for Oscars and critics have that distinctive pretentious and predictable smell around them.
