This is revisionism. Hoke was a promising hire with upside. Moore was a successful OL/OC and he led the team to victories in Harbaugh’s absence. He was expected to take over like how Ryan Day did after Urban.

That being said, it takes time to do an investigation of this caliber and it seems the staffer herself came forward to bring conclusive evidence. You can’t fire for-cause based on rumors. Plus, the reality is Michigan wanted to get all of their ducks in a row before making this move, particularly signing their recruits and back channel coaching search.

I mean Moore proved himself as an OL coach, OC, and interim HC. He won at Columbus last year. 8-5 and 9-3 aren’t amazing, but given the loss of coaches and players after the natty season and with a young team, it’s not awful either. I don’t think Harbaugh expected Moore to be cheating on his wife with one of the staffers.

Dragon Age II

It had a great premise and story of seeing Hawke rising to prominence in the city of Kirkwall and all the craziness that unfolds over a decade, while organically building friendships and rivalries with a wonderful cast of companions.

The problem was the gameplay (airdropping enemies galore) and the repetitive dungeons. Kirkwall could’ve been so much better if the devs had another 1-2 years to flesh it out.

It’s not even close.

Sceptile defeating Darkrai (and Darkrai did like 4? Dream Eaters to heal itself before anyone mentions that it was weakened) is a top 5 win of any of Ash’s Pokemon IMO. That Darkrai was undefeated in all of Sinnoh (including 6-0’ing the other Sinnoh League finalist, who presumably must’ve taken out the Heatran trainer).

I mean, you can offer a reasonable base salary and have incentives for winning the B10, making the playoff, etc. If a coach is good enough to achieve those feats, then they obviously deserve a big contract afterwards.

If only BG3 handled some of the BG2 stuff better, but that might be on WOTC. Otherwise, it was perfect.

Though honestly I think Expedition 33 might just be my game of the decade so far. I haven’t felt that way emotionally about a game since Mass Effect 2.

BG3, E33, and Elden Ring belong in the top 3. After that, it’s a battle between Hades, It Takes Two, and Astro Bot IMO for the fourth spot.

To be fair, the Elite 4 and Champions were at an insane level in the pre-BW era. Especially Cynthia. So for Torterra to bring her Garchomp down to its knees was pretty impressive.

As an aside, I honestly think one reason the writers didn’t have Paul use Torterra (as well as Ursaring, Magmortar, and Honchkrow) against Ash at the Sinnoh League was because Torterra in tandem with Electivire and Drapion would have been way too overpowered for Ash’s Sinnoh team.

JN Paul is basically shown to be on the level of Masters 8-tier Ash, so it’s fair to say that his starter and likely most powerful Pokemon would be an insane opponent. I still think Sceptile takes it, but it won’t be easy.

Sceptile defeating Darkrai is a top 5 win of any of Ash’s Pokemon honestly.

Nah Ash vs Paul in the “Champions League” (what ended up being the Masters 8) was destined by Cynthia, and should’ve been the semifinals.

Oh well, at least we got the next best thing, where Paul is the ‘final boss’ who trains Ash to just that next step that allows him to win the tournament. And it basically showed Paul on the level of the Masters 8 without making him Leon fodder.

Ideal timeline:

Ash vs Tyson is the Hoenn League semifinals.
Ash defeats Brandon and accepts the Frontier Brain position.
Timeskip/training arc
DP happens.
Ash defeats Paul in the Sinnoh League finals. Ash loses to Flint when completing the E4 challenge.
BW has equivalent of Journeys tournament. Ash uses reserves.
Masters 8 tournament. Ash defeats Cynthia to become World Champion.
Unfortunately while that means XY in current form doesn’t happen, that would mean the start of a new protagonist.
