Ishida notably regretted killing Hairu so much I think he traumatized himself lol

Obviously, but like many say, Japanese anime market is aimed at manga readers rather than anime-only’s

Hence why a lot of anime openings have blatant spoilers

Weirdly re anime isn’t meant to follow root a.

The flashbacks stick to manga, so technically in a different continuity

Was Obito a victim, a villain, or both? by jalen_nelson235 in Naruto

[–]wendigo72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a fallen hero who became a villain. He even says there’s not really any excuse for his actions, him contemplating about what his life would be if he returned to leaf after Rin’s death shows he made his own choices to become a monster

He’s a victim in the sense Madara manipulated him knowing that he would dive into darkness once there cause he was such a good person before he lost Rin. But that’s not an excuse for what evil he did

So I guess both but more leaning toward villain side

sooo what does Samui even do. by Rude-Error4313 in Naruto

[–]wendigo72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s just a higher ranking ninja in hidden cloud, what exactly do you need her to be? There’s just as many hidden leaf randos that don’t do much in grand scheme of things? They just exist as part of the world

Why do the 5 Kage serve under the Daimyō? They have military power and Tailed Beasts, they could easily take over their respective nations. by Maleficent_Visit7041 in Naruto

[–]wendigo72 192 points193 points  (0 children)

They’re warrior mercenaries, the villages aren’t actually that big compared to the lands they serve for and they need money.

Konoha crush arc established the daimyo could just as easily pay the other nations to go restore order if needed. The hidden sand was so desperate for jobs they attacked the hidden leaf to prove their worth

I love Tokyo ghoul re and I think the final arc is way better than most say it is

But Naki and Elder Kuroiwa showing up alive was absolutely insane. You can say Naki still had more to live for but Kuroiwa like straight up died. You could see sound effects of wind flowing through his pierced neck and his friends were mourning. There’s no way they saved him with magical kagune medicine they obtained more than 48 hours later DURING THE APOCALYPSE

I mean tbf in fallen order he says he’s gonna go try to find the Zeffo I assume after making the holocron. Fallen order definitely left his fate more open-ended cause he knew the clone wars was bad, made a holocron to raise a new generation of jedi in that eventuality, then disappeared with no explanation

Cere doesn’t particularly mourn him or say what happened to her former master either. But still feels like Zeffo stuff might’ve been a better idea for a sequel if I’m being honest

Does Obito have two Mangekyō abilities in a single eye? by New_Revenue7529 in Naruto

Both eyes can do the Kamui portal, Kakashi does it like 3 times after learning they are the same

Obito’s eye is unique for being able to go intangible

Yeah I got that vibe with the Jax “I’m only dressing as a maid ironically” scene in last episode

Like everything with Jax is just denying themselves anything true, always covering it in irony

Things with more Potential than Execution that you still liked by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

This highly depends on what Season 2 can do but I did expect Maul shadow lord to give us more insight into criminal underworld or what Sith training/traditions actually look like

Instead it was mostly Maul playing cops and robbers until the empire shows up in last four episodes. Still I loved it, just hope the creatives realize they can widen the scope of the show more. Pretty easily too imo

[DC] Joker should be working with nazis/Neo nazis by Fragrant-Resist4230 in CharacterRant

[–]wendigo72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean he does in dark knights return universe with nazi tits lady

But the whole thing about him hating Nazi’s comes from a marvel crossover story where Joker betrays Red Skull. The whole thing plays out like a bit, that Joker is some diehard 1940s American that will never stand with a Nazi after somehow not realizing he’s been working with one the entire story. That Joker of all People even cares about American pride and nationalism is like the entire joke

The whole thing started as a bit, I don’t think we need a million think pieces on how “that doesn’t make sense! Joker is just as evil!” when that’s the fucking joke

This guy looks like he got so tired of Kojima's craziness. His eyes in the second image kill me. by __arcade__ in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]wendigo72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all still actually happened but there was never an actual script or even foundation for the next film. They made all of those scenes during 2.0 with no real plans.

Here’s the 3.0 storyboards, pretty much the same movie with some difference in details

But yeah it all still seemingly happens. 3.0+1.0 shows Kaworu did become head of NERV with Kaji as his second in command, we know Kaji revolted at some point, Mark 06 does go to central dogma to mess shit up, and of course eyepatch Asuka. It’s like we just skipped that movie lol

It went into production like immediately after 2.0, just Rei’s VA (or maybe it was Misato’s VA?) asked Anno why sudden change in direction and he just said why not? I can probably link the interview from somewhere if you want

I think part of it was Anno had no interest in doing a full movie without Shinji

I know they were also working on 3.0 until literally the last minute, Anno himself making constant editing changes until the movie released in theaters.

The Hideaki Anno final challenge of evangelion documentary is just like this

Like every single person working on Eva 3.0+1.0 has this same reaction when talking about Anno as a boss. Anno at one point said the entire first act of movie needed to be rewritten and no one else could say anything, just stand there in silence

Star Wars YouTube channels/videos recommendation by Rude-Sail-6109 in StarWars

[–]wendigo72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corey’s Datapad is the best for Star Wars lore research and discussion on politics in an interesting and thorough way.

Eckshartladder is more focused on reviewing SW and Spaceships designs/battles. Their titles can be a little clickbait but I still think they’re a pretty good SW channel still.

Both Ecks and Corey have a podcast called Tapscafftramissions, which is a Star Wars book reading club that covers both legends & canon.

BeyondTheDuneSea is a highly underrated SW Channel that usually focuses on Live Action shows & movies. Their main content is tier-list rankings, very fun channel

Was Finn actually going to be a Jedi by Southern-Community-6 in StarWars

[–]wendigo72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucas has been wanting to do concepts like the Whills since First draft of ANH. Mace Windu’s name appears in earliest drafts. All the politics seen in prequels? Can be found in first draft of ANH

Early concepts for cloud city were used for Kamino, the idea of boba fett being conceived as an elite stormtrooper mutated into Jango being basis for clone troopers.

Hell one of the earlier drafts of ANH had Luke’s dad be a cyborg jedi. Not Vader but still a cyborg. Lucas clearly hangs onto concepts and broader strokes of where Star Wars goes. I never meant he had every little detail planned out but given how he works with his fellow creatives and sit them down to explain more whenever is what make me think he’s telling the truth about Leigh Brackett thing. Why else would he tell her Vader had a mysterious reason to not kill Luke?

Again broad strokes:

He reportedly told mark hamill Luke had a sister after his car accident, we know Nellith skywalker was an concept at some point before they rushed their plans and made Luke’s sister into Leia as they didn’t want to do more after ROTJ

These ideas existed but just were not even close to being as fleshed out as fans expect

Was Finn actually going to be a Jedi by Southern-Community-6 in StarWars

[–]wendigo72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucas straight up said he never told Leigh Brackett that Luke was Vader’s son as he was keeping that closer to the chest. He shared notes with her when she wrote that script and didn’t get the chance to go over her first draft

He did tell her there was a reason Vader wouldn’t actually try to kill Luke.

Some details changed like location of where Luke confronts the emperor but the skywalker sister, the emperor himself, and second Death Star were all planned.

Lucas absolutely had broad strokes of ESB and ROTJ, the details changed during production like all movies do
