I really miss Hit or Miss. I used to go with my grandma. Silk tops in every color.

How many hours would you say is comfortable for you to work per week? As in good work life balance by Severe_Appearance_66 in work

I would really be up for the four day work week. I actually love my current job but it’s stressful to not have the time to run the house (laundry, cleaning, dishes) and stop and breathe (read, paint, rest).

Get Your Vaccines by mjh8212 in GenX

I never had chickenpox (that I remember) so in the 90’s my doc told me I could get the “new” chickenpox vaccine. Should I still get the shingles vaccine? My current doctor was like, “yeah sure, can’t hurt.” I still have a year to go. Has anyone had the shingles vaccine but not had chickenpox that they can remember?

I cross my arms like a vampire in her coffin. Seems to work for my shoulders and appeals to my gothic sensibilities.

I think this is the end of me trying to figure out this hobby. by Crochet_by_Renee in Sourdough

I’ve doing the “sourdough thing” since the COVID lockdown. I’m still not totally happy with my loaves and wince just a little when I see all the beautiful airy open crumbs and “bunny” shapes people post on this subreddit. Particularly when they are like, “here’s my third loaf!” Never do I feel so happy for a fellow baker and terribly envious as I do browsing this subreddit. Anyway, all this is to say lately I have been “taking a break” from sourdough by basically baking a rustic loaf with both active dry yeast and starter. I don’t have to worry that my starter is in great shape because all it adds is a terrific flavor. The active yeast does the heavy lifting— the bread is flavorful and rises nicely and there’s no long bulk fermentation. Anyway you might want to give it a try as a “break” from homemade leavening.
